Culture bonuses and benefits
Feb 9, 2023 - Senior Benefits ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The culture bonuses and benefits are all great here. A great fun place to work for. A place where it’s team work exemplified. You do most of your work solo but, if you need anything there’s always a team there.
Cons
Long hours sometimes Hard to hit expectations Inability to take time off during key events.

It's gone downhill
May 22, 2023 - Senior Benefits Consultant in Tampa, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you are looking to sell insurance and have the stability of a base salary, GoHealth does provide that. Their work culture is inclusive of all types of people. They offer pretty good benefits. Work from home.
Cons
Management has no idea what they are doing. They have stopped spending real money on marketing and they have their lead generators cold calling the same people over and over again. The only marketing they are currently paying for is very misleading, so the leads are very low quality, and we were coached to lie to customers to keep them on the phone long enough to do a needs analysis because the marketing is so misleading. Training is inconsistent. They do not keep up with CMS requirements and guidelines until after their agents have received complaints. In 2021 they hired a ton of agents right before AEP and didnt properly train them, so a lot of agents quit and/or sold policies that didnt stick, which caused the company to lose a lot of money. Fast forward 10 months later and they laid off 60% of their employees across the company...and frankly, I wish I was one of them. I only quit 2 weeks ago and the final straw was when they changed the comp plan mid month and I was not made aware, which ended up costing me about $1000 in commission that month.

Decent place to work
May 14, 2023 - Senior Benefits Consultant in Chicago, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Remote work - Decent bonuses - Good work/life balance - Paid training
Cons
- Revolving door of managers - Some managers are awful (my first would cuss at me constantly in private meetings when I was a new hire) - Unorganized - Managers give a set of instructions one week and then the opposite instructions the next - You're micromanaged. Managers talk in your ear while you're on the phone with clients

Cons
There were none that I can think of.

Pros
The job wasn't bad but it could have been better. They gave a lot of empty promises and things changed so often. I was promised a promotion and pay raise. I was #1 in the part time program and when time came for promotions, they didn't deliver so I left.
Cons
didn't deliver on their promises

They try hard to make things right
Mar 27, 2023 - Captive ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
They're always changing and growing, which is why many within the company call it GoChange. And when things go wrong (as they do anywhere), they always try to make things right as best as they can.
Cons
Sometimes in their effort to make things right, they focus so much on data that they miss some of the human aspect of it all. They also struggle to keep up with market compensation at the manager level (maybe hiring too many managers?). As far as I know, they're working on fixing that, but I've talked to other managers at other companies who start out higher base (not even including additional bonuses) than people at GoHealth make after 1-2 years or more of good performance at the Captive Manager level.

Not a good place to work at all.
Mar 30, 2023 - Medicare Sales Representative in Riverton, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
work from home, not really any pros anyone could feel comfortable with.
Cons
They lied about having quality leads. they create a bogus volume with false leads. they lured elderly folks with false statements. to keep them on the phone. when we as agents question them. they say that it was out of their control, that we were at the mercy of 3rd party lead sources. commission structure was designed to be unobtainable for most, due to the constant poaching from other agents. benefits are the worst I've ever had. my son was born on January 2022 I had full coverage; however, we been fighting with the insurance carrier to pay their share. we notice my son was not on the list of coverage family members. when we call from the pharmacy, they say we will get a refund for the out pocket that should have been covered and get new cards. none of it happened. they separate you into teams. if you are an Anthem agent, they block your ability to offer other choices even if it is in the best interest of the client. this is just the tip of the iceberg. Go Health should be closed down by regulators. i am not sure what is taking so long. Go Health is breaking many laws and causing an unnecessary pain to our elder population.
