    Working at Higher One wasn't just a job, it was educational too. I received training before I began to take calls and continued to receive training the entire time that I was employed there. If I hadn't got laid off, I would still be working for Higher One.

    Cons

    I began working as a Seasonal Employee (which means that I was only able to work when the call volume was high). However, eventually I was promoted to Regular Employee (which means that I was able to work year round). The company laid off the entire Customer Care Department.

    Advice to Management

    You're doing an outstanding job, keep up the great work!

    Fair compensation for working from home

    Cons

    Shady company practices and fee structure.

    Advice to Management

    Shady business practices landed you in the hot seat. Class action law suits including one by employees who were cheated out of their paid-break compensation. Outsourced all jobs overseas and laid off all employees does not fit the business model and company “values.” Don’t work for this company and never do business with them.

    Pros

    The company offered work from home opportunities for customer care agents. Had a wonderful, helpful atmosphere always. There were metrics and goals to meet but because of the excellent training, reaching and exceeding goals was easy

    Cons

    Cons: The company shut down. A very sad day that was.
