    I worked at Intact full-time

    Pros

The people are great and the culture at the company is also really great. The company is very much oriented to making an impact on the community and also having social events to keep their employee's engaged.

    Cons

Very limited room for growth. If you are good at what you do they want to keep you in that same position. Management varies across the board, there are some managers that really want to help you but for the most part its a lot of yo working hard and taking on extra projects but little to no recognition.

Very low pay, if you're looking to make good money, turn around and look somewhere else, it won't happen at Intact.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep your employees happy, promote based on their personal track record and what they bring to the table not on who is more likely to kiss up to the managers. There are great employees at the company stuck in positions they are over qualified for.

    Pros

Work-life balance, interesting project, good benefits

    Cons

No different origin (e.g. asians, black,..) in the leadership position. They keep on saying that they encourage diversity, but there is not much work done to improve this. If you are asian, there is not much chance to get promoted no matter how great you do your job and even you have great leadership skills. Notice that some managers are very racist toward asians.

    Advice to Management

Improve diversity and encourage other different cultures in leadership position. Stop discrimination.

    Pros

Super fun environment, RVP is charming and funny, my boss is super flexible and understanding that we have personal lives. Great benefits, great engagement innitiatives... I have so much fun coming to work everyday.

    Cons

Lots of meetings about emailable stuff, takes a long time for higher positions to open up. Compensation is a little low.

I worked at Intact full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    1) Has strong senior leadership and strategic direction
    2) Many acquisitions and IT initiatives keep the company growing and improve employee processes
    3) Benefits are very good; bonuses are also very good as Intact tends to outperform the industry

    Cons

    1) Very little diversity in some areas/regions of the company
    2) Little loyalty to experienced, long term staff. I've seen many staff restructured (fired) without cause
    3) Sometimes department decisions tend to feel rushed and not well thought out; leaving staff scrambling to handle the consequences

    Pros

Great colleagues. Great management. Amazing benefits. Easy to move to other jobs through the company.

    Cons

I commute to work. Would love if there was an office closer to me. There isnt much room to grow unless you want to become an adjuster.
