I have been working at Mapfre full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, good hours, decent pay. If you need anything, they take care of you. Their Ergo departmentales sure you are comfortable at your desk and provides you with anything that you need.

    Cons

The workload is unrealistic. You get at least 15-20 claims a day, on top of taking care of inbound/outbound calls, rentals, appraisals, tasks and reminders for each claim. You constantly have over 100 emails daily....and you're expected to have everything as current as the week your in. Working overtime should be to help you get ahead, not keep you from drowning.

    Advice to Management

Some supervisors are so miserable they never have a nice thing to say to their employees. And new employees at that. How do you expect people to work hard for you if you constantly bring them down? You need to give people confirmation that they don't (for lack of a better term) suck. Hence why there is a constant revolving door. You don't get paid enough to deal with the workload either.

I worked at Mapfre full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company promotes entrepreneurship and flexibility

    Cons

Lots of nepotism from the company's headquarters is Spain. In a nutshell, if you are a male Spanish national you will move up the ladder whatever your competence level, otherwise forget it.

    Advice to Management

Promote your staff based on competence rather than nationality or gender.

I worked at Mapfre (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people in my department were great. They were super helpful and willing to help when I had questions. Another perk, intern's have Fridays off!

    Cons

We intern meetings every week, which were completely meaningless and did not get anything accomplished. In terms of my supervisor, she was extremely busy and provide me with much guidance when I had questions on how to complete a task. Luckily, I was able to ask other members of my department.

    Advice to Management

Cut out the intern meetings and properly prepare for the interns. I was not given access to certain softwares until my seventh week into the internship.

    Pros

Low stress, generous vacation, free coffee, nice building, good landscaping, easy work.

    Cons

Zero room for growth, under utilize employees, your spirit will get broken and you will find yourself rotting away at your desk. If you are not Spanish you are not going to get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Develop your employees, give honest feedback not rushed reviews that took 5 minutes to complete, if someone shows interest in growth within the company enable them, don't push them out for lack of loyalty.

Best training program for new hires in my 28 years of experience. Excellent and clearly communicated corporate values. I felt truly welcome in my new department. My supervisor has been tremendously supportive of my career advancement.

    Cons

There is no onsite fitness facility or child care. Nothing else to really speak of in a negative way.

I have been working at Mapfre full-time

    Pros

*Coming from a family-owned company prior to working at Mapfre I was nervous the grass wasn't greener on the other side but I came to Mapfre as a referral & I absolutely love working here! I don't miss my old job & got what I was missing at my old job here-& I only left due to moving....

*So much growth & opportunities to advance-I came to this company a little over a year ago & I've already been promoted-the management I've experience has been nothing but supportive & encouraging

*The PTO is amazing, you don't get this at most company's or 11 paid holidays which includes floaters.

*The training is exceptional-I felt I came out confident at the end of it.

*I haven't come across any negative people, according to some of these negative reviews I'm surprised since I'm only experience positive vibes.

*I could list many more pros, I'm very glad I chose this company when I had to leave my past job & plan on staying till I retire:)

    Cons

There honestly isn't many cons I can provide-most people probably don't like the micromanaging of phones, aux times etc...but when you work at a contact center this is not a surprise? If I was a manager of a contact center you need to keeps things in control w/ several employees...

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what your doing!
