I worked at MeridianLink full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Executive management are upfront with you. The CEO seems like he really cares, but just doesn't seem to have enough lieutenants to carry out his vision. And leadership may not touch base with you all the time, but they also don't sugar coat things, then turn around and flush you. I must say I'm a little disappointed at some of the negative (and immature) reviews here. Regrettably, I had to leave due to a family...

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

Good benefits package. Salaries seem competitive. People: the teammates I work with on a daily basis are very talented and hard working. New owners and bringing in more experienced executives and managers.

      Cons

The acquisition by private equity firm and subsequent forced merger in 2018 has completely changed the company. We used to have a great start-up mentality, where everyone just wanted to work hard to help deliver a great product and keep our clients happy. However, now that the new owners have installed their folks in management, they have put an emphasis on profit and performance metrics. Teammates who used to go out...

      Advice to Management

Try to get more "buy-in" from the middle managers. The newly installed upper management is dictating a lot of new policy downward, but there is not much enthusiasm for it from those directly enforcing it.

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

      Decent benefits and great location.

      Cons

The work culture has drastically changed over the past year with the investment company taking over. It's all about making money rather than improving the product. They've hired executives rather than hiring people who work with the product. There is not enough man power to improve/fix the products as we are selling and it leave us in terrible situations. Clients get frustrated and employees are numb to these responses....

      Advice to Management

Realize that your employees are extremely unhappy and overworked. A survey that has no comments section helps no one, this makes us more upset. Be more transparent with your intentions and the direction the company is going.

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Work life balance is good; never received any push back for taking time off.

      Cons

When I started a few years ago, it was pretty obvious that there was massive room for advancement. Anyone who had worked here for at least 5 years was in some type of management or leadership position. Following the acquisition by a private equity firm and merger with another entity in mid-2018, that no longer appears to be the case. It is extremely difficult to transfer to another department and it is apparent that...

      Advice to Management

Honestly, there's not much they can do at this point. They are on a path towards another private equity investment in the next 5 years or an IPO. It's no longer a scrappy startup company; it's a corporate firm with multiple layers of bureaucracy and management that are primarily accountable to the board, not to the customers/clients.

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Management seems to listen to work issues and try to help find a solution. There is a real appreciation for employees. If you dont like to work this place isn't for you because you will have lots of it.

      Cons

The environment at HQ location was super quiet you could hear a pin drop.

      Advice to Management

No advice I truly enjoy working with the management team.

      I worked at MeridianLink full-time

      Pros

HQ is in a good location. Benefits are decent.

      Cons

Has changed to a highly political culture. Owned by private equity now. Changed from flat management to top heavy with many more directors and C level. Open door process offers a place to speak your mind only - no changes come about. Work/life balance is no better than anywhere else now. What once was a nice company owned by a small group of individuals who were trying to build a great company, is now owned by...

      Advice to Management

The real management is the private equity firm now. Much like house flippers want to make money buying houses and selling them for a profit, private equity firms are usually in the business of buying companies to make money selling them a few years later. They're not necessarily concerned with keeping the culture or other intangibles that made the company good to begin with. They're busy making the company look good...

I worked at MeridianLink full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Expectations are clearly communicated Complex software leaves a lot of room for challenging yourself Great employees Everyone has a chance at career growth

      Cons

Complex software requires a lot of time to learn but for little pay Small raises High turn over rate Unqualified individuals may be elected to leadership positions

      Advice to Management

To offer world-class software and support, you must support your employees with better pay and benefits. Due to the amount of time it takes to learn the software, you would want to incentivize your employees to stay.

        Pros

There is no free lunch from this company. You really need to prove your worth. If you want to be on top of the summit, you have to climb the mountain which should be easy with patience and hard work.
