Terrible leadership, company is a joke

    Oct 20, 2019 - Full Time

    Pros

Nothing beyond the minimum benefits any company provides.

    Cons

There is nothing to recommend this company, unfortunately. The executive leadership is terrible and exhibits a shocking lack of integrity towards their employees and clients. There is no vision, and major business decisions are made from a purely reactionary place. They can no longer retain or attract talent. There is no career development or opportunity for advancement except through nepotism/favoritism/sexism/being Jewish. No one trusts the HR department so problems go under-reported (as HR staff are either perpetrating or allowing problematic behavior to continue). The upper management across most departments produce nothing of value, but only tear everyone around them down in an attempt to justify their own job titles. People who have a strong work ethic and seek constructive collaboration will be worn down by the company's refusal to make any improvements for collective benefit. Innovation and passion are met with resistance and hostility. There is no transparency regarding promotions/bonuses/advancement/opportunities (often talented people are undermined by their colleagues or managers). The work environment really has to be seen to be believed. Unprofessional at every level.

    Not Worth Your Time

    Nov 4, 2018 - Anonymous Employee

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Friendly people. Great company events such as bowling, Dodger games, carnival in the park. 15-17 days of vacation per year. Approximately, 11 paid Holidays per year, as well as early closures for Holidays.

    Cons

No room for growth. The office is located at the intersection of the two busiest freeways in L.A. The 101 and 405. Heavy traffic at all times. If you are a non-exempt employee (hourly), be prepared to arrive on-time, take an HOUR lunch and leave exactly at your scheduled leave time. Anything less than that is considered unpaid time off and you will be written up. 30 minute lunches are not allowed. Unpaid time off is not allowed. If you use up your sick/vacation time and you have a sick child, too bad. You will be written up. There is no make up time allowed either. Overtime is also frowned upon, unless approved by a manager. If you work less than 6 hours in a day, you are still required to take a lunch. There is NO telecommuting. You are required to be in the office every day unless you are an AVP or above. Insurance premiums are outrageous. Upwards of $1k to include your children for the HMO plan or upwards of $1600 on the PPO plan. If you didn't look into this prior to accepting the job, you likely just took a pay cut.

    Overworked and underpaid

    Pros

Cool people. Good location. Company events and beer at work. Snacks and catered food often.

    Cons

Seems impossible to succeed if you aren’t white, Jewish, blonde or mail. There are no black or brown people in any position of power (this does not included supervisors, although there aren’t many)

    Pros

Awesome locale, some nice people, good pay and snacks.

    Cons

Cliques everywhere. Some of the rudest people I have ever met. Managers are content with catty employees because they have know them for years. It is torture to work here.

    Pros

-Tokio Marine HCC now acquired NAS (best thing ever happened to NAS) -Some friendly employees -Some room to grow if you are a family member or friend of the VP/ manager

    Cons

-Lack of transparency from management -Most VPs are quick to take credits and point fingers when they can. Bunch of narcissistic leaders. -95% of VPs are cancer to the company. Most of them changed their employer to Tokio Marine HCC on Linkedin to hind themselves from all the horrible reviews from glassdoor -Some VPs / HR pretended to be your friend to get information and gossip behind closed doors. -Toxic environment
