    Pros

An engaging environment where I'm comfortable being myself
Flexibility - I'm able to truly put my family first
My voice matters - I can share ideas and feedback at any level and feel heard
I've been able to create my own path and do work that I'm passionate about and I can feel the impact my work has on PG.

I also love the people that I work with and we have some awesome perks like the Treat Yourself Fund.

I worked at Populus Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

extremely hard working employees who are over-worked and deserves so much more.

    Cons

I worked in the Burlingame office for over a year. The managers for the payroll team are super unprofessional; they tend to over work their team and they are horrible listeners. The managers in this office likes to set unrealistic expectations and doesn't step in to support their team when needed. They also encourages "candid" feedback, but when given feedback, they get defensive and only listen to respond. They also don't value the growth of their employees and do only what is easiest to them and most convenient. Lastly, they don't take responsibilities for their actions and tends to blame their employees for their mistakes.

There's also not a lot of growth opportunities here in the CA office because it's too expensive to promote the employees here.

It's really sad because culture is suppose to be an important factor for the company, but because of the poorly chosen leaders, they lost many great employees.

    Advice to Management

    Choose better leaders.

We’re very sorry to hear this. This is, of course, not what we want our climbers to experience. But we really appreciate the feedback—we’re going to use it to get better. If you’d like to talk more... More

I have been working at Populus Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Populus Group was recently voted as one of the best place to work in Washington by the Puget Sound Business Journal and I couldn't agree more! The culture at Populus Group is second to none, and is what every company says they have but don't deliver.

Management is focused on your professional development and encourages you to go to seminars or training to better yourself. To make it better Populus Group provides you with a training budget and will pay for these seminars! A lot of employees have little to no experience when they come to Populus Group but management and coworkers are always very supportive and understanding when you make a mistake. A lot of my coworkers including myself have been promoted to a new position within 6 months to a year. The company is growing really fast so there is always advancement opportunities open.

Populus Group also offers some great benefits! One of my favorite is the Treat Yourself Fund, which allows you to expense items like a vacation or a massage to name a few. The benefits are medical benefits are cheap and heavily subsidized by Populus Group. Populus Group also offers a 401K which they DO match!

    Cons

    Technology is a little outdated

    Advice to Management

Keeping doing what you are doing to make everyone better!
