    The people are what make working at ShoreTel great.

    Cons

    Acquisition by MItel has left many in the dark about what their future is with the company.

    Advice to Management

    More proactive communications.

    I worked at ShoreTel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    People, product, performance recognition, merit, culture all were great for quite a whole but seemed to fall off within the last year or so when CEO & board positioned company for sale. Then people were just numbers.

    Cons

    Mitel acquisition, CEO and board wanting to sell out. Executive and upper management getting full bonuses and RSU payouts, but employees were left out.

    Advice to Management

    When Mitel CEO said that ALL employees would know where they stood on "Day1" of acquisition and would be receiving an offer letter, then they should have followed thru with that statement. In not doing so many were left to wonder what their fate would be and uncertainty in the workplace is mental torture. It would have been better had the CEO NOT made that promise.

    - A lot of good people.
    - Benefits OK.

    Cons

    - A real lack of competence in the middle management ranks.
    - Product management knows nothing about telephony so they focus on UI/UX and the expense of capabilities.
    - Senior management team that recently left had run the company down and extracted significant capital.
    - No one gets promoted, ever.
    - Mitel seems equally clueless so things are still declining.

    Advice to Management

    - Try to find and promote the competent people who exist in your organization.
    - Make manager have more hands on responsibilities so they don't spend all day in meetings pretending to be managers.

    Pros

    Fair pay for external hires. Good health care coverage. Talented Staff that are generally great to work with. . .

    Cons

    Terrible communication from C level management. Senior leadership refuses to take responsibility for poor vision and misdirection of CLOUD Solution. Focused on adding lackluster trendy add on's as the core offering struggles with stability.
