Pros

As all others have posted - the benefits! Monthly premiums are a little high however, if you have health issues or an unexpected surgery you will be covered. 100%.

Cons

Again, as all others have stated- It is unbelievable that SP is still in business. The managers are nothing but "yes men/women" and puppets to the absolute worst execs. I cannot even refer to the "execs" as leadership or management because those two titles do not exist in that role. An "open door" policy means nothing other than the door is open so the sales staff can hear the ultimate lack of professionalism when speaking to direct reports/puppets. When turnover is brought up, the higher exec calls SkillPath a "self cleaning oven". The negative attitudes start at the top and unfortunately, this is not going to change. This is a family run business by a family that has NO business sense. The only hope for change, and the ONLY reason I am adding a review, is that the Board of Directors can open their eyes to the turnover and loss of business and make something happen. My reason for leaving was a decision solely made by me - with an understanding that being happy and treated like an adult - a human being- is much more important than good insurance.

This is an unfortunate review and misrepresents a large portion of our teams at SkillPath that work tirelessly to support the sales division and the continued success of this company that is entering it's 27th year in business. We understand that not everyone will agree with policies and procedures but they must be in place to ensure everyone is treated fairly and has an equal opportunity to be successful. The sales team members have been involved in helping us to define some of these policies and it is unfortunate that you didn't take the opportunity to include yourself in those discussions. Thank you for taking the time to voice your opinion and we will certainly do our part to improve on the areas we can.

Pros

Vacation and PTO are pretty decent

Cons

Seems like management is grasping at straws to keep things from completely tanking. Everyone is just working to basically stay afloat. There are many people who have gone well over a year without a raise. It was recently announced that everyone is getting a basic “cost of living increase” in December. That means some people will have gotten two raises within a year, while others have to wait well over a year just to get one pitiful 3% increase regardless of their good annual review and extra time and work. It’s definitely a slap in the face to those employees who have been putting in a lot of extra effort. If you’re not going to be shown any appreciation, there’s no point in going above and beyond. People who don’t know anything about this company would probably be very surprised by the dismal salaries a lot of employees here have. The high hopes I used to have for the executive team have completely diminished. Company culture and moral is really bad right now but management walks around like they’re in la la land and things are are good but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Pros

The benefits were good. The PTO and vacation time was also good.

Cons

One senior sales leader (using the word leader is hard to do) is toxic and senior leadership is still standing behind her. They have changed all senior leadership and fired almost all tenured (and successful) sales staff. Promised all kinds of change only to realign comp plans and up the base. The comp plans mean you have to sell double what you sold before to make the same amount of commission. That DOES not make up for a higher base. The culture used to be toxic, and I didn’t think it could become more. It has. I was always objective of how I looked at SkillPath as there was a lot that needed to change. I was excited for all the changes that are now in place. They fooled me. Don’t let them fool you.
