I worked at Software Paradigms (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you desperately need the money, and can wait a very long time to get paid, go for it.

    Cons

Accounts Payable is awful. A constantly changing cast of people who don't know how to do their jobs.
Internal tool to enter your hours is obtuse, badly implemented, and often misconfigured.
Communication is extremely poor. If you need something from the home office, prepare to send several emails before someone responds.
Expect a problem getting paid every month.
Contractors are treated like replaceable cogs. They simply don't care about you.
Their travel department is a combination of incompetent and extremely cheap. Expect the worst accommodations and terrible choice of flights. They are willing to inconvenience you and waste your life in order to save a few dollars.

    Advice to Management

You badly need to professionalize your back office functions, stop cutting corners, and greatly improve your ability to communicate with your own team members.

    Pros

They have a good relation with 2 clients in Atlanta area and they have projects mostly and you will get exposure to offshore and onsite working environment.
If you know the basics, it is a smooth working environment

    Cons

Projects demand to spend a lot of time working with offshore beyond 11 PM
No other big clients other than these 2 for years, they have 3 to 4 positions max with other clients
You can never get a hike for years
You have to Boot lick the managers to be in the next project, otherwise you will compete project and your job
You may get some partial training from offshore but will not get on to work on that in any project
Managers really cannot help you grow except they taking credit and hike for all your hard work

    Advice to Management

HR can directly interact with the employees instead of listening to the selfish managers
Consider hikes and promotion for performing employees

    Pros

Company is growing by acquisitions of other smaller companies in the same field. Possible opportunity to do other things.

    Cons

The only plans the company seems to be working toward is how to grow big enough through acquisitions so they can look financially good enough to sell the company. This is only a benefit to the upper management and investment firm and is absolutely the worst for their employees and even their customers. Do not seem to make decisions based on what is the in the best interest of employees, or customers, only want to do what looks good on the balance sheet regardless on what it does to the people.

    Advice to Management

Remember that people are your assets and treat them better and with more respect.
