Great working culture and promising business
May 22, 2023 - Product Designer in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
iwoca is a company filled with exceptionally talented and passionate individuals. The working environment provides a fertile ground for rapid personal growth and offers numerous opportunities to showcase and maximize your unique skills and abilities. One of the standout aspects of iwoca is the prevalent culture of seeking feedback from peers, which ensures that you are constantly guided in the right direction and can make progress without unnecessary delays.
Cons
While the culture of frequent feedback at iwoca is undoubtedly beneficial, it can occasionally contribute to a heightened sense of stress among employees. The fast-paced nature of the workspace demands effective time management skills to stay on top of tasks and responsibilities. It is important to maintain a healthy work-life balance and proactively manage your time to thrive in this dynamic environment.

Great company and culture, a lack of strategy
May 15, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I am a big fan of iwoca. The culture is great, with lots of social things going on. Other perks like the summer/winter house, food in the office, table tennis and ping pong add to the welcoming environment. The office is a fun place to be and well located. You are the creator of your own destiny and are allowed to pursue projects you think are important. There is a big focus on data and statistics. Feedback is frequently given and received which creates an open culture and allows for growth. Fair compensation and quarterly pay reviews.
Cons
There is no sign of a long-term strategy filtered down from management and little discussion of our actual customers which does make the work seem somewhat lacking a goal at times. Very remote-heavy for certain teams which may be a con for some people.

Cons
-Many yearly/quarterly IT and compliance other Team trainings become long and arduous between daily tasks but but necessary to keep systems in check -Building or aligning roadmap across teams and stakeholders is tricky as everyone is pushing for the same goal in different levels and intensities. It's a matter of understanding what everyone wants and needs to build together.

A company where you can learn, push yourself and grow…
Mar 6, 2023 - Account ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A workplace full of smart and ambitious people. If you are willing to put yourself forward, you’re also given the opportunity to try new things, learn and then improve. It’s a great culture to have and there’s now a huge push on “learning” across the company.
Cons
2023 didn’t start too well and our customers were heavily impacted by wider macro economic conditions (inflation, cost of living etc). This makes the job tough at times, especially when you’re dealing with SMEs on a daily basis. Saying that, demand for our product is now at pre covid levels..so there’s clearly a huge need for what we do.

Interesting but for how long
Oct 25, 2022 - Anonymous Employee in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A fun work environment with extremely nice and supportive staff. Ideas can be turned into change quite quickly. The office is supplied with drinks, snacks and all ingredients for breakfasts as well as pool table, table tennis and a Switch to enjoy. The tech is excellent and efficiency improvements are continuously sought. Work life balance is very good with set hours and ability to work from home. Very social and accepting of all people.
Cons
Strategy and direction limited to a few select people. Work can be repetitive if not in one of those positions. Due to the size of the company career progression is limited internally and externally will be limited to the micro lending space. Peoples intelligence often result in finding a "smart" way to do something without first asking if or why it should be done at all in the first place. Lack of external experience for most staff impacts judgement. Interest rates on products are mind boggling and could be considered predatory.
