In recognition of Women’s History Month, we asked Roslyn Lo, a senior manager on our New York Advisory team, to share her words of wisdom with us. Read on for your daily dose of inspiration! What message do you want to share for Women’s History Month? We can have it all – but on our own terms. It's ok to deviate from the beaten path and break from traditional norms. It's our prerogative to pave our own ways, and not be constricted by societal expectations for women. What advice would you give to team members just beginning their career at CohnReznick? Get involved, get out there and meet different colleagues in different practices. Each one of us has so many unique perspectives to share that will enrich your careers and open your eyes. Do you have a favorite quote? "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" - Patrick Swayze. Aside from being a classic 80s movie, I love the simple but universal underdog message that you have to believe in yourself before anyone else will.
In recognition of Black History Month and its 2022 theme - Black Health and Wellness - CohnReznick office manager Joseph Benson-Cassell hosted a live cooking demonstration for the firm. As a passionate cook and foodie, Joseph describes his meals as being “super flavorful and full of love, and all made with keeping our busy schedules in mind!” In addition to showcasing his incredible culinary talents, Joseph also shared stories, histories, and laughs with the nearly 200 live attendees.

We understand that preparing for the CPA exam, especially while you are working, can be daunting. With that in mind, we have expanded firm-provided CPA resources to include even more educational and emotional support offerings! Our newly-launched resources include a CPA Exam Support Hub, comprising a Your Way to CPA Checklist; external links to state specific information; CPA prep materials information; and more. We have also created an internal community—Your Way to CPA—which provides a platform for those on their journey to becoming a CPA to connect with their peers and share knowledge, sentiments, and experiences with each other. And, last but not least, we recently offered access to a 4-hour CPA mock exam. Launching soon will be our CPA Exam Ambassador program which will consist of team members who have recently passed their CPA exams and are available to help support and guide our team members on their CPA-exam journey.

CohnReznick is committed to providing an extraordinary people experience for our employees both at work and at home. In these challenging times, we understand that this means providing the resources, flexibility, and time off to empower our people to be successful and fulfilled in all aspects of their lives. With this in mind, we are excited to share that the entire firm will be closed for the week of Thanksgiving. By taking this long break together, we hope everyone can recharge ahead of the year-end and focus on the things in our lives that truly fill our cups. In the season of gratitude, we are humbled to give thanks for, and to, our incredible team.
We have been named to Newsweek’s 2021 Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces list! The list pays tribute to companies that put respect, caring, and appreciation for their employees at the center of their business model and, in doing so, have earned the loyalty and respect of the people who work for them. To identify the top 100 companies for the Newsweek ranking, companies were evaluated and scored based on a combination of employee survey responses; external public ratings from sites like Glassdoor, Indeed, and Google; and direct interviews and written responses from company officials. As expressed by our CEO, David Kessler, “Being named to Newsweek’s Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces for 2021 is a testament to the exceptional workplace culture we continue to build here at CohnReznick. We want our people to know they are part of something greater. At CohnReznick, this is defined by a strong sense of purpose rooted in creating opportunities for our people, making a difference for our clients, and strengthening our communities.”
In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month 2021, CohnReznick hosted three dynamic events to elevate the voices of our Hispanic and Latinx employees, clients, and community members. Our kickoff Dialogues on Diversity event focused on how Cuba-U.S. relations impact not only Cuban Americans, but all Americans. During the two subsequent panels, the panelists shared their own life experiences with a discussion surrounding culture and the intersection between one’s heritage, upbringing, and the professional landscape. The panelists also shared insights into ways we can all help to foster a deeper sense of inclusion and belonging for the Hispanic and Latinx communities.
