We’ve been having an ice-screaming time kicking of our internship program this summer! Last week our interns and their teams took some time away from their desks to get social and cool off with an ice cream social and the ultimate board game extravaganza! Yesterday was #NationalCancerSurvivorsDay. Throughout the week we heard courageous stories of how our employees have been impacted by cancer either through a loved one or through their own personal stories. #WeStandTogether to fight cancer and we stand with our survivors. In honor of this day, we made a donation to support the American Cancer Society and all those who have been affected by this disease.
We were stoked to be recognized in the top 15 of the Phoenix Business Journal’s Healthiest Employer’s list and to celebrate, we hosted the #MakeItHappen Health Challenge to encourage our employees to devote themselves to their health throughout May. Each of our winners received $100 to put towards a customized wellness gift of their choosing; between a new rower, running shoes, athletic apparel, and a nutrition subscription we hope you continue to dedicate time to your health. #Congratulations to Peter Grisolano on your 20-year work #anniversary with the DriveTime family! Peter works as a Managing Director of our Database Architecture group. When asked what has made him stay this long with us he said, “Hands down the people! It's not co-workers, its family. I have met so many great people at DriveTime that have helped me professionally and personally. What's great is that everybody is so motivating and passionate about what they do at work and away from work. Some of my most memorable moments in life have been with my DT Family, doing a rim to rim to rim in the Grand Canyon, half marathon in Death Valley, and a life changing trip to Peru. To add to that, we get to solve super meaningful and interesting problems and there are so many areas of the business that you can deep dive into. In Arizona, we acknowledge today as Native American Day thanks to state Senator, Jamescita Peshlakai, who made today an official holiday 2 years ago. We gladly celebrate the significant contributions and history of Native American people in our state!

As a way to support the loved ones of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, we proudly supported Memorial Day Flowers, an organization dedicated to placing a flower on every grave of those who lost their lives. In honor of #TeacherAppreciationDay at the beginning of the month, we ran a supply drive where our employees could give items in need to educators. In addition, we partnered with Treasures 4 Teachers thrift shop, an organization that accepts your no longer needed treasures and in return, all proceeds help to provide free and low cost supplies to educators. We are honored to support and recognize our teachers as the school year comes to a close and throughout the entire year! #GiveForGood
