Attitude of Gratitude on Women’s Day at Littelfuse Legnago International Women’s Day, recognized each year on March 8, is an opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements — from politics and justice to sport and entertainment and to all women in all spheres across the globe. On this day, the Littelfuse Legnago teams brought flowers to their female colleagues to express gratitude for the efforts of women across all fields in shaping a more equal world. “International Women's Day is about a lot more than distributing flowers around the site,” said Andrea Polato, Plant Manager. “It's about recognizing the achievements and contributions of the women around us and ensuring that they are recognized and valued. It was a small token of our appreciation, and we were happy to see that they put smiles on many faces, even if they were hidden under the masks.”

During the conference, the attendees learned how to spot early breast cancer symptoms and perform a potentially lifesaving self-examination. In addition, the female associates working at the plant on the day had the opportunity to get tested by professionals using professional mobile mammography equipment delivered to the site by local medical authorities. “According to the World Health Organization, as of the end of 2020, there were 7.8 million women alive who were diagnosed with breast cancer in the past five years, making it the world's most prevalent cancer,” said Manuel Lopez, Senior HR Manager. “The good news is, though, that with timely diagnosis the chances of a full recovery are increasingly high."

Children’s Week Activities at Littelfuse Mexico Between after-school time, rainy or lazy afternoons, sick days, and – of course – a pandemic that forced kids to stay home for months on end, parents know that it can be maddeningly hard to keep bored children engaged and occupied. At least for one week Littelfuse Mexico associates did not need to worry about any of that – their children participated in a number of fun activities dedicated just for them. The children were invited to take part in a drawing competition, “Superheroes against COVID-19.” When judging the entries, the panel invoked the three main criteria — originality, relevance to the topic, and artistic merit. When the opinions of the panel judges varied, they would simply put a final decision to a vote. Also, the children who collected bottle caps exchanged them for gifts. The bottle caps will be donated to a local organization that exchanges bottle caps to medical equipment and donates it to the people who need it most. More than 1 million caps were collected, and the top scorers were awarded great prizes.
Littelfuse Joins the Center for Automotive Diversity, Inclusion and Advancement (CADIA) As part of our ongoing focus on diversity, inclusion, and belonging, Littelfuse recently joined the Center for Automotive Diversity, Inclusion and Advancement (CADIA). CADIA is a non-profit organization focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the automotive industry. Established in 2017 with the idea that diverse talent had long been overlooked and undervalued in the automotive industry, the organization set a goal to double the number of diverse leaders in the automotive industry by 2030. CADIA seeks to create avenues of success for people of all diversity dimensions in the automotive industry by providing professional development opportunities. Due to civil unrest and recent challenges Littelfuse Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) Committee are currently focusing this initiative on the United States only. However, the long-term plan is to gradually grow it into other regions as well. First it takes to learn the steps and understand what diversity challenges exist in each region.
