Earlier this fall, with crisp fall temperatures just settling in, Littelfuse associates in Lithuania took on the Virtual Littelfuse Fitness Challenge and opened it with a hike in Kaunas Regional Park. The Challenge invited all Kaunas associates to register and actively participate in different online events. For each activity, the participants receive points that will eventually add up, and the top-scorers will be awarded great prizes. Competition is a natural part of office dynamics, so we might as well have fun with it, said Aida Kundrotaite, Human Resources Manager Lithuania. This challenge is a great way to get associates excited about wellness. Injecting physical activity into our working day could reduce some of the health risks that are elevated by being sedentary. Results come from consistency, and this challenge provides structure to help us consistently move toward an end date and reach our goals. Well, let us not forget the great prizes too! They definitely help us to stay motivated along the way.

Happy Happiness at Work Week Celebrating Happiness at Work Week at the end of September gave us an opportunity to reflect. Being happier at work is associated with improved health, increased creativity, more productivity, and lots more. While many factors have a great impact on the overall office culture, good days do not just happen. They are made. It is possible for each one of us to create our own sense of happiness at work and believe it or not, a happy workday starts with a happy workspace. Therefore, ensuring that you have a space that is friendly, enjoyable, and productive should be a high priority, especially while many office workers are working from home. Keeping spirits up in COVID times while following health and safety best practices is important too. Our associates in China added smiles to their masks, which adds a bit of humanity that we've all been missing.
Dressed up for Mexican Independence Day Early September is a special time of the year in Mexico, known as Mes Patrio (meaning “Patriotic Month”). Travelers visiting Mexico around this time are sure to see plenty of green, white, and red everywhere they go in honor of the colors of the Mexican flag. Also, Mexico is the best place to be on September 16, Mexican Independence Day. This holiday celebrates Mexico’s declaration of independence from Spain in 1810, and it’s filled with national pride, colorful parades, mariachi concerts, and food. On this occasion our associates in Matamoros and Piedras Negras, Mexico, showed up for work dressed up in multi-colored traditional dresses or skirts, and the mariachi attire. The traditional Mexican clothing is full of colors, flower print, and elaborate embroidery, but it is actually more than that. Traditional Mexican clothing is a mix of cultures.

Littelfuse Associates Making Big Impact in Mexico The world is changing and we have to start adapting to a new, more germ-conscious way of living. The Littelfuse Mexico Engineering team found a way to leverage the Piedras Negras Tooling and Prototyping Fabrication Centers and made face shields and hygiene keys for associates returning back to work. With in-house tooling development capability and scrap plastic repelletization methods in Piedras Negras, the team designed and made face shields complete with injection-molded Littelfuse visors from recycled production plastics. These face shields provide additional safety for Littelfuse associates in Mexico; Kaunas, Lithuania; Rapid City, the United States; Almada, Portugal, and will also be sent to the Mount Prospect lab for teams to utilize as they return to work in the labs.
