Littelfuse Kaunas Associates Participate in “Women Go Tech” Last year, four associates from Kaunas, Lithuania, actively joined the initiative “Women Go Tech” - the first mentorship and counselling program in Lithuania for women seeking careers in the technology sector. It was first launched in 2016 with the goal of empowering women to seek professional careers within the technology sector and to strengthen gender equality in the labor market. Four of our associates became actively involved in this initiative. Ausrine Bukauskaite, launch specialist, joined the program together with more than 170 other women from Lithuania as a mentee. Jovirdas Linkauskas, R&D Manager EMEA, Sensing; Ausra Juodgudyte, enterprise Lean Six Sigma manager; and Rimantas Misevicius, technology development engineer; became experts and mentors willing to share their knowledge in order to help others successfully step into tech.
Littelfuse Recognized by French Distributor SPDEI Littelfuse continues to win awards honoring our customer focus and high-quality products. Recently, Littelfuse was recognized with two SPDEI Supplier awards for 2018 and 2019. SPDEI is a distributing syndicate of 25 distributors in France and a partner of the “Electronics Industry” Sector Strategic Committee (SSC) which is responsible for identifying links between the sector’s key challenges and reciprocal commitments by the state, regions and manufacturers in France. “It is a great honor to be recognized by SPDEI as it is the French electronic component distributors union that connects 25 companies,” said Arnaud Boudin, regional sales manager, Western and Northern Europe. “We received the awards in discrete electronic components category for 2018 and passives for 2019. It is purely the team effort that earned us this recognition. I wholeheartedly thank each one of the associates who foster excellence in the work we do.”
Littelfuse Talks Strategy at Arrow India Supplier Dinner Last month, Arrow India held a traditional supplier dinner ceremony in Bangalore, India. As one of the key suppliers to this regional branch of global distributor Arrow Electronics, Littelfuse was invited to meet the company’s leadership team, talk 2020 strategy, and discuss the overall direction of our ongoing cooperation. “We have a very strong, long-standing partnership with Arrow India,” said Gursharan Singh Bhatia, country head, EBU Sales. “Being our key supplier in the region, the company truly knows our customers and can share valuable insights into today’s needs for solutions to address tomorrow’s design challenges. Littelfuse Dongguan Receives Best HR Practice Award for Innovation Last month, Littelfuse Dongguan received a prestigious 2019 HR Best Practice for Innovation Award by the Human Resources Association of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (CHRMA). During the ceremony held in Guangzhou, the CHRMA honored the leading enterprises that demonstrated exceptional human resources management practices during the year. The keynote speaker, Tao Wu, Chief Consultant of Gallup China, delivered a speech on the latest human resources management trends entitled “Advantages Empowering Organizational Change.” "We are honored to have received this award,” said Tracy Hou, HR manager. “It provides us with even more confidence to continue on the successful path of aligning local HR functions with the global Littelfuse business strategy.” CHRMA is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating bilateral trade between the United States and South China. It currently represents more than 2,300 American and International companies.
Littelfuse Piedras Negras Celebrates Manufacturing Excellence Recently, the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) honored the Littelfuse PCP operations in Piedras Negras, Mexico. The AME Excellence Award primarily recognizes manufacturing and health care organizations that have demonstrated excellence in manufacturing and business operations. This is the fourth consecutive year that Littelfuse manufacturing operations have been recognized by AME. The AME Excellence Award criteria details a lean systems model for enterprise excellence. The primary focus of the award is to acknowledge continuous improvement, best practices, creativity and innovation. It supports AME’s mission of inspiring commitment to enterprise excellence by recognizing best practices in order to share, learn and grow.
Christmas Tree Contest in Littelfuse Kaunas Christmas is the time of good deeds and warm hearts, a celebration of love and joy with your closest friends and family members. But often, it is also a great time to let your creativity flourish. That proved to be true for associates in Kaunas, Lithuania, who participated in “The Most Creative Christmas Tree” contest, organized by the Littelfuse Kaunas Events Committee. In total, 20 teams and individual contestants submitted their Christmas trees, many of which represent the work that the associates do. The Christmas trees were put on display for the whole week, waiting to get votes from the dedicated panel of judges — Littelfuse Kaunas associates. The winning Christmas tree, made of wires, belongs to Audrone Kandrotiene, production line operator, who devoted a lot of time to making the precise and elegant Christmas tree.
Littelfuse Runners Raise Funds in the Annual 5K Run Last month Littelfuse Mexico held it's tenth annual Carrera Littelfuse 5K 2019 (Littelfuse 5K Run 2019). The participants of the race ran for our associates from Mexico -- Adrian and Jesus, as well as two children of our associates Sofia and Jahir who are all battling different forms of cancer. Jahir, a nine-year-old boy, is a son of one of the CVP Muzquiz team associates. The supportive team members joined together and more than 100 runners from the CVP team joined the race. Also, the CVP team runners won in both men and women categories and fundraised more than 50,000 Mexican pesos (approx. $2,500 USD) for Jahir. “When the run is getting tough and you’re wondering what you’ve got yourself into, the knowledge that you’re raising money for a cause you really believe in will give you a purpose and keep you on track right up to the end,” said Lorena Ramos Garcia, materials superintendent and the women’s first-place winner.
Kaunas Management Team Gives Thanks to Manufacturing Associates Last month, having recorded the most productive month in the year, the Littelfuse management team in Kaunas, Lithuania, decided to put on the aprons and serve food to the manufacturing staff as a thank you for their hard work and dedication. “When we found out that this October was the most productive month this year, we simply knew that we needed to do something special to thank our manufacturing team,” said Aida Kundrotaite, HR manager Lithuania. “This idea to serve food to the manufacturing staff seemed the most fitting, because in addition to providing us the opportunity to thank face-to-face to so many people, it also carried a very important message – as a team of leaders, our primary goal is to support the staff and serve the needs of our associates who work literally day and night to produce the products that meet our customer needs and expectations.”
2,109 Steps to the Top – SkyRise Chicago 2019 2019 marked the 10th year of participation for Littelfuse at the SkyRise Chicago charity climb. There were 24 participants representing Littelfuse as they spent their Sunday morning conquering the world’s tallest indoor stair climb at the Willis Tower in Chicago, IIllinois, USA. The 2,109 steps rewarded participants with breath-taking views of Chicago from the top of the 103-story building. All proceeds from sponsors such as Littelfuse are donated to the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, a research hospital in Chicago. The AbilityLab specializes in providing research and rehabilitation services for adults and children with complex conditions, ranging from traumatic brain and spinal cord injury to stroke and amputation. Each year, SkyRise Chicago raises more than $1 million for the hospital.
Littelfuse Wuxi Celebrates 100 Million Units The end of October marked the special achievement of a major milestone at Littelfuse Wuxi — the shipment of 100 million automotive TVS diodes units. The first production lines of the automotive TVS diodes project started running in the Wuxi site back in 2017. In less than two years, they reached the 100 million units shipped. For this occasion, the entire team gathered together with the managers, engineers and the Automotive line associates, who helped to make this happen.
