    Tell us a little bit about yourself. What brought you to Macy's and what philosophy do you bring with you? I grew up in the mountains of Tennessee where my dad worked in a chemical plant. As a kid, I was always particularly fascinated by math and science, which led me to a chemical engineering degree from North Carolina State.

  • ONYX, our Employee Resource Group representing Blacks United in Leadership and Development, and more than 300 Macy’s Associates spent MLK Day volunteering. Our CEO Jeff Gennette spent the morning at a soup kitchen in Harlem, NY with ONYX leaders and other volunteers.

    The true story of how Macy's built its first black-and-white Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon

    Something is wrong with my eyes. Before me stands a fully-inflated, 30-foot tall Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon. But instead of the typical riot of color, all I see are shades of gray: six hues to be precise. It's not me, it turns out, this black-and-white throwback is the brainchild of Macy's and collaborator 20th Century Fox.

    When Rihanna debuted her seventh fragrance, "RiRi by Rihanna," at Macy's in Brooklyn, her appearance garnered over $46,000 worth of sales at the store in just one day. RiRi said the scent, which she describes as "really playful, very fun, very feminine, very girly and flirty," is "something for the young girls to get excited about."
