MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital has one of the busiest emergency departments in the state. Charge Nurse Jarae Goldsby has worked in the Good Samaritan emergency department for nearly 20 years, thriving in the fast-paced environment. “I began in the emergency medical services world volunteer fire fighting and working as an Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic serving our community,” Jerae says. “I truly love the spontaneity of both jobs and look forward to helping people during crisis.” For Jerae, the beauty of working in the ED is two-fold: no day is ever the same and she gets to work with a great team. “I love everything about my job; the teamwork, the challenge in figuring out how best to help patients in the most efficient and safest way possible, supporting my teammates in every way possible to make their day the best possible and providing our community with the best care.” Thank you, Jerae, and the many nurses who work hard every day to care for our community.

Once the students complete training, they will be able to take the state’s certification test, and then placed at a MultiCare hospital based on need. “When we have additional nursing assistants at our hospitals, it allows our registered nurses to spend more time connecting with patients and working at the top of their license,” said Heather Coleman, vice president of clinical practice and professional development at MultiCare. “We believe this new program will supplement the other excellent CNA training programs in the region.”
