#NursesWeek2023: Meet Mary Sharon, a licensed vocational nurse at PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital’s Transitional Care Unit. Mary Sharon enjoys supporting our patients simply by helping them take their medications or listening to their stories and making them comfortable when they’re at their most vulnerable. She puts #PatientsFirst by being a voice and an advocate for individuals by communicating with doctors and other staff, and by providing support to their families.

#EmployeeSpotlight: Meet Gloria, a clinical nurse specialist and stroke coordinator at PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital. Gloria chose to work as a nurse because she felt called to serve and provide holistic, compassionate and empathetic care to those suffering. “I love that my stroke coordinator role allows me to work with my nurse colleagues and empower them with stroke knowledge,” says Gloria. “And my goal is to coordinate and ensure that our patients receive timely stroke care so they and their families can return to ‘normal’ life.” Gloria has been with PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital since 2019. She says that she is delighted about all the positive changes that have taken place at the hospital and appreciates the culture of professionalism that the organization promotes. When Gloria is not working, she loves dancing, and riding both dirt bikes and on her Peloton. PIH Health thanks Gloria for continuing to put #PatientsFirst!
While patients don’t often see them, our Heath Information Management (HIM) professionals are trusted with the most sensitive data that exists about our patients and are committed to making sure information is available where and when it is needed to support our vision of Patient’s First. PIH Health recognizes our HIM teams and the work they do daily to manage patient health information to ensure accuracy, accessibility and security. Thank you for helping us provide the best care for our patients!
