I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Microsoft (Redmond, WA) in May 2007
Interview
Seems like the role was agreat match for the skill set so heard back from a recuriter of the Office Live team within a couple days.
There were three different HR people who emailed me, one who scheduled the interviews and two who met me in person on the day of the interview.
The first thing I found out when i got to meet the HR folsk before strating the 'loop' that included 5 different people from the team, and its partenr teams. The HR had communicated wrong times for when the people were avialable - so I would be actually travelling to a differnt location first and all that. I did not get a real good feelign about how this HR team worked :) is it really that difficult?
Then I met the first person - who would be my manager. he was great and the interview questions were about my previous experience. I answered relating back to what was expected from me in this job and how my previous experience would help me come 'running' into this role.
The next person was alady who asked questions that came out of a book - like ' how do you manage conflict', difference of opinion etc. - a whole behavioral interview.
The next two people were from teams that worked with the hiring team and had fewer questions and was again a bit about how I handled situations in team building as well as about my opinions about the online technologies, business models etc.
The last interview was the managers manager. His style of interviewing was - tell me why we should hire you ?' What is ROI ? How would you measure ROI etc. More hardcore. Felt like he wanted to find a breaking point. Quite interetsing.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Microsoft
Interview
4 rounds of PM interviews. Quick scheduling, happened back to back within 2 days. The questions were around product design and thinking, with few questions on past work experience. If you follow a structured problem solving approach, you are good to go.

Simple -- recruiter screening first, then hiring manager interview. After that, interview with four different people. One was a technical interview with lunch. The other was with a potential teammate, then the Principal Group PM and the Principal PM Manager
