I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sears (Oviedo, FL) in Aug 2011
Interview
I applied online on 8/16 and got a call 8/29 to set up for the following day 8/30. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was interviewed by the Retail Supervisor. She was very straight forward with me. The whole thing lasted 30 minutes and she said I would get a call back for a second interview and that they she was considering putting me on the sales floor in the appliance department instead of the position I had originally applied for which was cashier. I am praying I get a call back tomorrow like I was told I would.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
When was a time you exceeded goals you had set for yourself or someone had set for you?
Took like 20 mins. Very easy but questions seemed random. It also seemed like management had no idea they had interviews scheduled cuz there were several of us waiting for a long time
The interview process can vary depending on the company and position, but here’s a general idea of what to expect:
1. Application Review: After applying, they’ll review your resume. If they’re interested, you’ll get a call or email to set up an interview.
2. Phone/Video Interview: A lot of places do an initial screening over the phone or via video call. They’ll ask about your background, why you're interested in the job, and how your skills fit the role. It’s usually a casual chat, but make sure to prepare by knowing the company and job description.
3. In-Person Interview: If you pass the initial screening
Fill application form to apply and wait few days before submitting it to the company. Had to provide personal documents and references from previous employers. Initially was interviewed on a phone.
