Does Capgemini have a pension plan?

      Capgemini reviews

      Poor Management

      Cyber security consultant
      Former employee
      Glasgow, Scotland
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent enough access to some training resources. Pension contributions good, ability to buy additional holidays. Probably a good place if you are a fresh graduate who can be moulded to fit the corporate values or if you just need a couple of years of easy street until you reach pension age.

      Cons

The constant preaching of the corporate values that they can't actually adhere themselves to. Lack of meaningful work in my chosen profession yet senior management blamed staff for this. Excuse me?! It's not my job to bring in new customers and clients. Constantly trying to shoehorn staff into different business areas which do not match the person's skills. Having to continually chase for project codes and dealing with the wrath of HR when they weren't available for you to input into the timesheet system. Senior business management are quick to tell you what you need to write on the department polls so that they look good, anything else (your own opinion) isn't considered to be the Cap way. Senior managements attitude in regions such as Inverness is terrible, very aggressive bordering on bullying. Too long on bench and they will quickly find a way to get rid of you, typically through a very biased redundancy scheme in which they just make up criteria that has no relevance (you failed to fill out your time sheet etc).

      Pros

      Work life balance, pension contribution

      Cons

On paper: great organisation! In practice: no vision, poor me-too portfolio, disproportionate management overhead, body-shopping as core business, incompetence generally prevails.

      Pros

      - The culture & values are second to none! Cannot praise the culture and people enough for making Capgemini the best place I've ever worked - The people (obviously!), again, everyone I have spoke with across the global company has been so kind and willing to help one another - Work / life balance & flexibility: being a new parent, having the flexibility with my work schedule makes life so much easier and having management that understand and support you is priceless - Loads of learning opportunities and access to resources to support your development & career goals from entry level (degree apprentices & graduates) to more senior roles. - Always lots of things to get involved with, LOVE for innovation and looking for new ideas - Standard annual leave entitlement at 25 days (with options to buy / sell) - Generous pension package

      Cons

Salary can be at the base level compared to some other employers. But the overall total reward package is generous and the culture & people more than make up for this.

      Catastrophic Leadership

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - A good place to start off your career if you've just graduated. - Basic benefits like pension, healthcare, and holiday leave. - Provides you with some work experience for your CV.

      Cons

This organisation serves as a prime example of what not to do in business. It mainly acts as a temporary solution for those in need, offering just enough experience to encourage people to move on. The leadership demonstrates a consistent unwillingness to accept responsibility. Senior management opts to deflect blame for evident failures onto their staff. They instigate disorder by making decisions rooted in unrealistic expectations, subsequently expecting their employees to achieve the impossible to satisfy those demands. When outcomes do not align with their plans, they seek scapegoats rather than examining their own errors. The management of the organisation puts way too much focus on formal qualifications and job titles, ignoring real skills. This leads to a tricky situation where practical know-how is undervalued in favour of certificates and rank. As a result, skilled people with solid experience often miss out on promotions, which affects both their motivation and the organisation's performance. There aren't clear routes for professional growth, and it stifles creative thinking, creating a culture where accountability is avoided rather than tackled head-on. The organisation's management structure has quite a few operational inefficiencies and issues. These systemic problems create an environment that can seriously affect employee development and engagement. While a short stint might be okay, staying longer could have major career consequences, such as fewer chances for advancement and a possible decline in professional motivation, especially when individual contributions aren't properly recognised or appreciated.

      Cons

False promises during TUPE transition Rude management (can only speak for my specific section, I don't know about other line managers) Extremely painful change processes Understaffed The most horrific time booking system I have ever seen Overall just doesn't feel like a welcoming company. They don't care about you and you aren't treated well. At least that's the experience I've had being TUPEd in
