Pros
Pilot Travel Centers has been a fantastic place to build my career over the past nine years. Having worked in six different departments, I've gained a broad perspective, and overall, I can confidently say it's a great company. The benefits package is excellent, and the office spaces are consistently nice.
One of the standout aspects is the overall company culture, which fosters a positive and supportive environment. I especially appreciate the emphasis on giving back, as the company provides time off for volunteering, encouraging us to make a difference in our communities. Pilot also heavily invests in employee development, offering numerous educational classes to help better your career. The convenience of an on-site gym is another huge perk.
Cons
While the overarching company culture is strong, it's important to note that the culture can differ greatly from department to department. Some areas are led by long-tenured individuals who may be stuck in their ways and resistant to change, which can sometimes hinder progress. In contrast, other departments are highly innovative and constantly seeking the next best thing, creating a dynamic and forward-thinking atmosphere.
I've been impressed with the new executive leadership team so far. However, I have noticed and heard from others that work-life balance has suffered a bit since their arrival. This is an area that could benefit from more attention to ensure employees don't experience burnout.
