What is paid time off like at Prudential?

Pros

Great benefits such as PTO, salary, paid holidays, and other perks of a big company.

Cons

Not the most enjoyable job. Definitely routine work month to month. Which is why I believe the compensation and benefits are so good to retain employees.

Does Prudential have a pension plan?

Pros

Great benefits including pension, 401k, 15% discounted stock purchase plan.

Cons

Have to work 3 years to vest pension and 401k which is kind of a bummer. Overall, company is in a major shift. Recently did a Voluntary Separation Program which led to over 10% attrition. Lots of folks with institutional knowledge left but so did some dead weight which is good I guess. The politics between the various businesses have always held Prudential back. People are loyal to whatever business unit they work in rather than the firm as a whole. That goes all the way to the top. Promotions are very political especially in the Chief Marketing Office. People that have come from Citigroup for example promote their own buddies while rockstars who are not part of their click get left out.

Advice to Management

Get everyone to buy into the idea of one team one goal. Get rid of the culture of pinning businesses against each other. Remove people who abuse the promotions process by rewarding their friends and find the real gems to get even more productivity from them

Great benefits including pension, 401k, 15% discounted stock purchase plan.
