What are perks and other benefits like at Walmart?

      Walmart reviews

      Walmart DC

      Maintenance technician
      Current employee
      Grantsville, UT
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great benefits, stocks, 401K, tuition reimbursement, 10% off in store, and several other perks.

      Cons

Working for a big corporation definitely comes with some trade offs, not many holidays off and no holiday pay when you do have to work.

      Walmart is ok

      Quality assurance
      Former employee
      Sealy, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

You get a lot of benefits, 401k match up to 7%, free college to specific schools, store discount, Healthcare, dental, vision, life insurances, and the list goes on.

      Cons

If you are complacent, this isn't a bad job. But if you want to do more or want your voice heard, this ain't the job for it. Managers will get in your way of moving up or moving around.

      Associate
      Former employee
      O'Fallon, MO
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Stable schedule, stable pay, easy management process for benefits and time off.

      Cons

In my time as a full-time associate, the cattiness amongst the management was insane. Constant low-level gossiping and backstabbing amongst the team leads and some of the "coaches" (who really didn't impart much wisdom) were major a-holes. I honestly have to say I enjoyed interacting with the customers more than my fellow employees in some cases.

      Ups and downs

      Online grocery pickup
      Former employee
      Orange Park, FL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

it is a large department that can leave you being able to learn multiple things, so it isnt always repetitive if you become proficient at each part of the department. Walmart offers a discount for employees, and gym memberships that are inexpensive. The only other pro I would say is that you are moving and staying active.

      Cons

Often team leads play the game of favorites. Walmart dropped the base pay to 15 an hour versus the online grocery department previously earning more for the extent of how physically laboring it is, and constantly busy. Walmart culture is not great, and the benefits are not good unless you can get full time.

      Online Grocery shopper

      Personal shopper/ogp
      Current employee
      New Berlin, WI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Flexible hours, decent pay, good benefits and set schedule

      Cons

Lower pay, medium stress and in need of good people skills.

Good benefits overshadowed by unsupportive management

      Anonymous employee
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good benefits, free Walmart plus membership along with free peacock, perks on gas, 10% associate discounts, able to advance a percentage of your check ahead of time

      Cons

Managers are never satisfied with your work. Your area could perfect and they’ll continue to nitpick. If you’re someone who goes above and beyond, don’t come to this place. They treat you like you’re a robot. You’re not allowed to get tired. People are human. This company only cares about their metrics and bonus, not your well being. Majority of the salary managers are lazy and are too good to help you when you have a lot on your plate. They expect you to complete a billion tasks in one day. Be expected to pick up the previous shifts slack everyday. After you’re done with what they’ve left then you can begin your tasks. If you don’t finish your tasks then it’s the end of the world. Management doesn’t do a good job of hiring associates, which makes it harder to run your department. Favoritism is a real thing at this company. Sometimes it’s best not to complain about your manager to the store manager. It gets you no where it just makes your job harder. Managers gossip about you being your back and then smile in your face.

      Cons

      Cons

Basically everything other than their innovations in regards to employee tech and seamless integrations of the systems and apps set in place to help employees find, locate, stock, look up quick information, donate, claim or basically do anything needed within Walmart.
