Flexible scheduling and free food, but high stress levels

      Store coordinator
      Current employee
      Buffalo, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Flexible scheduling, free food, digital coupons, positive work environment

      Cons

Stressful atmosphere, customer-facing interactions, limited work-life balance at coordinator and STL levels due to required open availability, micromanaging leaders, company is corporatizing faster than ever and causing burnout, nepotism runs rampant making career advancement next to impossible past a certain level, extremely low pay for what the job is. “Great place to work” is honestly a catchphrase that isn’t lived up to

Not As Good As People Think

      Restaurant foods customer service
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

breakroom events (food), sense of community, flexible scheduling (especially part time), room to grow/learn new things, decent healthcare

      Cons

no perks (no employee discount, only coupons), wages are only slightly above minimum wage and fast food places are catching up, low amount of PTO, semi-cultish corporate culture, unhelpful HR department.

      Great company, so-so store.

      Pros

Great benefits, pay is decent, good company culture.

      Cons

Store leadership is headed by a pesky micro-manager who destroys employee morale. Culture has taken a huge hit since this person took over.

      A Great Place To Work!

Working at Wegmans is one of the absolute best jobs you can have. A Great culture, competitive pay with consistent raises, flexible hours, and a great scholarship.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good pay, benefits, employee events, good people, schedule flexibility.

      Cons

In smaller departments, full time and management positions tend to have little turnover if any so there is little room for advancement without moving departments or stores.

      Great place to work at

      Sales associate
      Former employee
      Dulles, VA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good pay, many opportunities for advancement, good management, good benefits

      Cons

Some great employees, management in TRF side very disorganized

      Pizza team leader
      Former employee
      Washington, DC
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great benefits, great pay compared to surrounding areas

      Cons

If management is disorganized there is no possibility to cross train or be promoted. Upper management is more concerned with higher sales departments and will devote more attention and resources to those and lower grossing departments will get ignored. Next to impossible to get rid of bad employees or employees with bad work ethic. Not open to listening to suggestions from team leaders and do not distinguish hard work from said individuals.
