Interview
Applied online and was very happy to receive a quick response from the HR department. Within a couple of days I received a phone interview that reviewed work history and qualifications. Then was invited to the Bloomington, MN office for seven interviews from 9am-1pm with various staff members including managers and associates. Most of the interviews were conducted in pairs.
Staff was very friendly and encouraged a relaxed atmosphere to share work experience, discuss workplace scenarios and problem solving methods. Questions included why I want to work for Alarm.com and what skills I can bring to the company. The process of the interviews were to determine if I, the individual, would be a good fit with all the team members. A few of the interviews ended with riddles. Overall it was a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I had three riddles given to me. I was unable to solve one but I explained my thought process to them which they seemed to appreciate. First riddle was how I could use as little steps as possible to find a slightly heavier ball from eight other visually identical balls with a scale. The 2nd riddle was how to cross a square moat that is nine feet wide and nine feet deep with two eight feet long boards. The third riddle discussed what sort of associations i could find with a series of numbers.

Interview
The hiring process is very smooth! They first perform a phone screening, and then schedule a in-person interview. At the in-person interview, they first go through the generic interview questions with the reqcruiter, and then move you to a room where you're interviewed by a group of people who are team leads for the position. After that process, you take an assessment and then the recruiter gives you a tour around the company floor. It's nice that they do everything in one go, and you really get a feel for the open environment. Also, everyone at the company was quite friendly as I waited in the lobby area.
