I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Hyderābād) in Apr 2020
Interview
Amazon has 14 Leadership Principles (knowns as 14LP) which are not just principles but Amazon breathes on them. I could witness the strong presence of all few LPs during the course of the interview.
One of the important Leadership Principles is "Hire and Develop the Best". The whole interview process is an epitome of the same.
The interview process started with a telephonic conversation with the recruiter. She planned an initial screening round with the Hiring Manager. The round was about 40 minutes long wherein the hiring manager was eager to know about my current job responsibilities and how well am I suited for the applied position. Additionally, he described the JD in detail and put forward his expectations. The Hiring Manager signaled a Go-Green to the recruiter which followed a series of interviews.
In the time of COViD-19, the interviews were all conducted on the Amazon Chime platform, which is one of the best online meeting platforms I have ever witnessed and experienced. 4 rounds each 45min-1hour were planned on the Amazon Chime platform. The interview was centered around the Leadership Principles and my experience/instances from the previous job that would relate to the LPs. The interviewers were a part of the team for which the job position was released. All the 4 rounds were over in two days. A week later, my final round was planned. This was a Bar-Raiser (one of its kind of interview). The interviewer was from a different team and had a long, enriched experience in interviewing candidates for various positions. This too happened on Chime. All in all, the interview was a rich experience where the interviewers would ask questions around LPs and then shoot the follow-up questions. They listened very patiently and made note of the inputs that I provided. And yes, they are mad for data!
After 5 days, I got the result confirmation over the phone.

Question 1
1. Tell me about a situation where the problem was really difficult but you came up with an easy solution (LP: Invent and Simplify)
The process took a very long time and after 4 rounds of interviwes I got only an auto rejection email. The company check only the Leadership principles, and it looks like they don't have an interest in smth else. Anyway people were nice, the case study was interesting as well.

Did a test task and was called by HR almost immediately for the next round. But salary range (full packet with stock and benefits) and return to office policy did nit much my expectations
very standard. the interviewers had a set of questions to ask about the LPs so we can anticipate beforehand. But I think I got ghosted in the end. One of the interviewers told me about the 2 & 5 rule but its been more than 2 weeks since my last interview and still no response from anyone so idk what happened.
