I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Box (Redwood City, CA) in Feb 2017
Interview
I was contacted by the recruiter over LinkedIn. Initial recruiter call to go over the position and gauge my interest. Then a phone interview with the engineering director followed by 2 onsite interviews. First one was 2 hours and the second one was 4 hours. All interviewers were polite and respectful and asked meaningful and relevant questions. There was a change in their org structure between my first and second onsite interview so the hiring manager I talked to before in 2 previous interviews was not going to be the hiring manager any more. I wish this was told to me before the interview and not catch me by surprise half way through the interview. Hiring is a two way process and I need to be comfortable with my future boss as well. Overall the experience was positive.

Interview
Honestly, someone needs to tell them to touch grass. Three 1-hour rounds and then another 2 loop days of 3 interviews each? I' sorry, not even Amazon does that. I don't know who they hired from a FAANG company and they copy/pasted the process but they need to realize they are far from being FAANG. 2 days of loop, they are expecting from someone to take 2 days PTO or half days to attend their process? Na-ah
The process was very clearly communicated and consisted of a meeting with HR, followed up by a meeting with a VP of Engineering. After that I was told there would be a panel in which I'd have to present a scenario to a group of employees.
