I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ciena (Ottawa, ON) in Apr 2022
Interview
I asked me a lot of behavioral questions and no technical ones. However it was a beginner position, basically entry-level and the only "technical" question they asked was regarding AWS.

technical and behavioural interview combined in one interview, about Python and C basic concepts such as pointers. they asked about a lot of syntax and to write out basic code with correct syntax
Recruiter phone call not much more to it coding was pretty straightforward they might throw a riddle to confuse you but has no weight really. For coding if you can solve basic dsa questions you'll be perfect.
I was asked a variety of questions, but the majority of them were behavioral. When it came to the technical questions, the interviewer was primarily interested in my knowledge of runtime and efficiency. In terms of behavioral questions, I was asked about my past experiences and how I had dealt with various situations in the workplace. I provided examples of times when I had to work under pressure, resolve conflicts with coworkers, and communicate effectively with team members. Overall, I found the interview to be straightforward and manageable.
