      Driver Interview

      Aug 17, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at DoorDash (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2020

      Interview

I applied online and received an email from the recruiter after 5-6 days for an HR screen. The interview was fairly straight forward, more about why DD, why role etc. Next, was the hiring manager interview where it went more in depth into my experience before the manager launched into the role description. She gave me a go ahead for the next round during the call itself. The second round was two part, first was an analytical exercise with a large spreadsheet and the second part were 2 case interviews all of which revolved around Doordash's business model. I waited for about a week or 10 days before I received an email for the final round interview with a panel comprising of the leadership team including the hiring manager. This lasted about 2 hours and included a small case as well. However, this round revolved more around how to lead a team, how to build an organization, success/failures I have experienced in the past and just interest in Doordash. I thought the interview was fairly strong and was expecting a result (positive/negative) within a week or so. However, it has been over 4 weeks and there has been no communication on either moving forward or on decline and I have been in limbo for this period of time. I contacted the recruiter and he informed me that the team was still deliberating, then was on vacation and would get back to me soon with a result. This last bit has left a bad taste in my mouth about the whole process. Companies like DD should have the courage to inform candidates (particularly ones that are in the final round) that they will not be moving forward in the process instead of stringing them along.

I interviewed at DoorDash (Champaign, IL)

      Interview

There was no interview it was just documentation - license, safety in driving, etc. As long as you have a good record there's no particular selection process. And as long as there are enough open spots in your area you can easily join after submitting all the paperwork.
