Telephoned and an appointment was made for an in-person interview in two business days. It was cancelled once and re-scheduled, but went through just fine. It was a standard interview with basic situational and behavioral question, with a focus on customer service in addition to human resources. This is to be expected since it is a retail opening. It seemed as though there wasn't a great deal of HR experience in the interview, but it went well and those interviewing were friendly. During the interview, I found out it was non-exempt and expected a longer than average work week. This would have made SHRM certification a bigger challenge, as an hourly HR person.
