Meta Software Development Engineer Interview Questions

Took a paycut going into Meta - $305k TC to $270k. Also had an AP offer for $370k. Decided to go with Meta as I wanted to scratch the industry/FAANG itch. Ive really struggled because the role hasn’t panned out as expected, and the only benefit has been WLB. Should i go back out into market? Only been 6 months at the new role

Anyone move to a role (in industry) that was not aligned to expectations? If so, what did you do (talk to mgr, HR, look for new roles/company)? It’s impacting my mental health to the point I don’t think I can stay a year. I likely can also get a 50k+ pay bump for my YOE at other firms (industry or consulting) For context I went from T2 strat consulting (9 yrs) to BizOps role at Meta. Appreciate your help!

Curious to know if anyone who’s moved from EM/PL/AP MBB role is happy? Moved to an S&O role at Meta and I’m struggling to see much benefit other than better WLB/less pressure. S&O in tech feels second-class citizen (lower influence), work isn’t as meaningful, slower and less clear career growth, slower comp trajectory. Feels like the only worthwhile move is to Product but curious to hear if G is better.

Been unemployed for almost a year despite aggressively looking for a job (based in APAC region). Just because I worked at Facebook, ppl think I have it easy and shouldn’t worry but with all the visa restrictions before and everything, it’s so hard to find a job. I’m srsly battling anxiety everyday in this job search process. Is there even light at the end of the tunnel? Seems like a long tunnel right now

What's the comp expectation for L5 in strategy & ops in Bay Area? Separately, recruiter mentioned Google is 0.5 to 1 level higher than Facebook, but I don't see that being the case at least benchmarking to PM on Levels.

I got an offer today from Facebook at the L3 level. I am working remotely from Austin and my overall comp (bonuses and stock options included) is about $140k. Am I getting ripped off here? How do I try to neg with these people?
