took about 2 months just to get an initial phone screen scheduled. recruiter apologized but explicitly ensured their team had just started interviewing all candidates, then sent an email a week after that the role had been filled. transparency is key, here. felt my time and energy as a candidate was not valued on top of being lied to about where other candidates were in the process. bummer
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at MongoDB
Interview
Their internal recruiter reached out to me for the position. In the phone interview, the recruiter went over multiple roles with different requirements. I ended up feeling confused about what they were looking for.
I got scheduled for a manager interview. The interview guide had instructions about how to share my screen and present my work. I spent about a week preparing for a presentation to highlight my recent projects and present them to the hiring manager. The interview was in a different format than was communicated.
I didn't receive any updates about their decision or the next steps. It was one of the most confusing and vague interview processes I've ever experienced.
