I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at MongoDB (New York, NY) in Jun 2022
Interview
Had initial intro/eval with recruiter and then met virtually with the hiring manager, a Team Lead, another Manager, a technical engineer for technical skills assessment, then the AVP then EVP. From initial call to offer took about 8 weeks.
I was pleasantly surprised at how transparent the recruiter was from the onset, openly giving me the salary range, package details and process expectations. Refreshing, since many other companies waste your time only to realize they can't meet salary expectations at the end of the process.
Everyone I met with was incredibly well-spoken, professional, friendly and most importantly all shared the same passion for the company and Technical Services team. They were transparent with current challenges and asked poignant questions about my experience and methods to gauge what value I could bring to the team. No stupid chit chat or silly questions, only quality conversation about ideas and opportunities. Everyone also spoke highly of the company culture and their profound respect for executive management. Being slightly skeptical, it was hard to believe at first but I realized it was genuine after they all shared the same appreciation for company leadership.
Overall, the best interview process I've ever been through in my 25 year career. That was one of the key reasons why I accepted the offer.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MongoDB in Oct 2023
Interview
The interview process I experienced with MongoDB was disappointing. After an initial phone contact with the recruiter, a video conference was scheduled promptly. During this interview, as I discussed my background and professional experiences, I sensed a lack of confidence in the interviewer's reception of my explanations. The manner of questioning seemed overly skeptical and gave the impression of being interrogated rather than engaged in a conversation.
One particular query involved addressing how I manage a team member's underperformance. While attempting to provide a genuine response, it felt as though the interviewer was seeking a contrived or predetermined narrative. Furthermore, there seemed to be an insistence on divulging confidential information regarding a team member's personal issues, which I couldn't ethically share.
Overall, the interview experience left much to be desired. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable due to the interview style, and it seemed challenging to navigate the interviewer's expectations regarding certain sensitive topics

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at MongoDB (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2023
Interview
The interview process is unnecessarily grueling, and doesn't align with how the expectations the recruiters set up front. The company seems plagued by Analysis Paralysis, and hiring processes is especially slow moving. Round 1: Recruiter (Zoom) Call with a recruiter who gave a summary of the business, role and interview process. I was told there were 4 rounds (Peer Manager, Technical Interview, Senior Director, VP ). (2-3 week wait. Chased recruiters 1 time) Round 2: Peer Manager (Zoom) Interview with Peer. Questions around Building Teams, Motivating Teams, Measuring Teams, and Management Style. (2-3 week wait. Chased recruiters 1 time) Round 3&4: Senior Director (Zoom) 2 Interviews with Hiring Manager (Senior Director). Questions around my career history, skill sets and motivations. (2-3 week wait. Chased recruiters 1 time) Round 5: Senior Director (Zoom) Interview with peer of Hiring Manager in another region. Questions around my career history, skill sets and motivations. (2-3 week wait. Chased recruiters 1 time) Round 6: VP (Zoom) Interview with hiring managers boss (VP). Questions around motivating people and working for a scale-up. (2-3 week wait. Chased recruiters 1 time) Round 7: VP (Zoom) Interview with peer of hiring managers boss in another region (VP). Very early morning because of time-zone difference. Questions around motivating teams. (2-3 week wait. Chased recruiters 1 time) Round 8: "Technical" (Zoom) Interview with a manager in another region. Bizarre format of technical interview. I think it was supposed to be a systems design question, but interviewer kept inventing constraints, so we ran out of time before anything could be designed. Purely verbal inteview (rather than whiteboard/leetcode/etc)
