Application
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Mudano (Edinburgh, Scotland (UK)) in March 2018.
Interview
MUDANO is very disorganised and took weeks to actually get in touch with me. Then after the Interview even longer to respond. I would only recommend applying for this company as part of a bulk application because they do not care much about making a good impression or being civil.
Interview Questions
Application
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mudano (Edinburgh, Scotland (UK)).
Interview
A warm, informal telephone call, a skills based interview with a presentation and a culture fit/ambitions final interview with one of the co-founders. It was challenging and the expected standards were very high but this was made clear in the initial telephone interview.
Interview Questions
Application
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Mudano (Edinburgh, Scotland (UK)) in March 2018.
Interview
Thorough interview process, talking with a range of people across the business. Initial phone screen, followed by discussion of an implementation exercise, and final chat about the business itself. The technical task was suitably challenging and the broader aims and culture of the company were well communicated.

Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mudano (London, England (UK)) in April 2017.
Interview
Good initial phone interview with a project manager. The 1-1 was with only with someone technical at a hotel. No structure in the interview - I had to ask for specifics as questions were very vague & not much about project management. Interviewer cared more to brag about his knowledge than actually conduct the interview - he talked about hypothetical projects with 200 engineers that he has worked on before... while Mudano is a startup with less than 30 people in total. Came across as just too elitist. Chose not to move forward after this.
Interview Questions
Application
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Mudano (Edinburgh, Scotland (UK)).
Interview
- Informal Chat with Recruiter. This was a chance to chat about the company for both you and the recruiter to gauge if it seems like both you would be a good fit for Mudano and if Mudano is a fit for you.
- Telephone interview based around CV and previous experience. The interviewer has a copy of you CV and asks about previous experience, a good chance to highlight key achievements and back up your strengths and skills but also talking about difficult situations and how you overcame them.
- Assignment with senior delivery manager and co-founder. Presentation on a topic of you choice from a selection sent to you prior to the interview, followed by around 30 mins Q&A. This was the toughest part of the process but also the best part for ensuring Mudano is a fit for you as you meet members of the team and can ask detailed questions around the culture, company's vision and strategy.

Interview
The interview process took around 4 weeks
3 stage interview process: a face-to-face round covering my CV, a 15mins assignment/presentation on project delivery - prepared in my own time, and a final with CEO which was after working hours

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Mudano (Edinburgh, Scotland (UK)) in March 2018.
Interview
The office was extremely welcoming and the interview process was very professional. Having the final interview with a member of senior management portrayed an element of care in how Mudano build their team, which I often find lacking in other firms. I also found in the final interview that I had ample opportunity to sell myself and define my career goals and aspirations to ensure that Mudano could offer me the correct support alongside ensuring I was right for the role.

Application
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Mudano.
Interview
Informal and collaborative. It was quite an enjoyable process and i can remember being excited before the interview. First interview was a technical interview whereby i was quizzed in verbal form how i would go about designing a solution of the nature that the interviewer described. The second round interview was more about how i would fit in the culture of the company and more about my character

Application
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Mudano in March 2018.
Interview
I was contacted by an external recruiter, who set up my initial 1:1 interview. After that, I gave a short presentation to a panel, and then had a final interview with the CEO and CPO. Until the final stages, all of the communications went through the external recruiter - which was sometimes a bit inefficient, but also meant that I knew exactly who to go to with any questions.
The process was flexible - Mudano worked around my schedule, which included a 3 week holiday (!) shortly after my initial interview and then a lengthy notice period. I got a good sense of what it would be like to work with the team at Mudano, and felt like I had the opportunity to demonstrate my skills as well.
The one challenging thing about the interviews was that the role description didn't seem to be 100% pinned down when the interview process started - so while it ultimately changed in ways that made it a more interesting role, it also meant that each round didn't completely prepare me for the next.

Mudano Response
Apr 11, 2018 – Recruitment Manager
Thanks for your review. I’m sorry that you had this experience with Mudano, and certainly believe it’s not representative of our process. Indeed, there may have been some confusion here. We have not been recruiting for interns directly. We are working with a university partner on some summer placements this year so I assume this is the role you are referring to. For these placements, we actually follow the universities recruitment process, and only have access to some of the data and are only involved in subsets of the process. As such we would be very interested to understand more about your experience to make sure we can iron out any issues between us and the university to ensure no one else encounters similar issues in the future. We would really appreciate if you would drop us an email on jobs@mudano.com with some details so we can determine what went wrong in your case.
Again, apologies your interview experience wasn’t to the standards we hold ourselves. If you can help us out I hope we can address this for future summer placement candidates.... MoreLess
