I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nielsen (Shanghai, Shanghai) in Apr 2013
Interview
3 days after online application, I got a phone call from the associated manager of Online Division. She asked about:
1. tell me about yourself
2. followed by that question, she required me to describe my previous internship experience in detail
3. why I applied this internship opportunity
4. career development plan
then she told me to have a face to face interview with her after 2 days, during which:
1. she introduced the companies and function
2. asked me how much I know about online business
3. questions on my previous internship experience
4. my intention to stay at the company and become a full time employee if they want me to leave
I applied online. I interviewed at Nielsen (New York, NY) in May 2021
Interview
I applied online and was first interviewed with a Recruiter. Subsequently, I was emailed a link for a technical assessment for which 115 minutes were allocated. A day or two later I was invited to interview with several managers and a few days later was invited for a final panel interview. Everything progressed quickly and everyone was professional. The internship projects seemed super interesting and aligned with my background. That said, after the panel interview, I never heard back from anyone. I cannot understand how a company believes its OK to not get back to a candidate after completing an assessment of close to 2 hours and multiple interviews. An automated rejection letter doesn't take much effort and leaves a better impression than being ghosted.
