I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Old Navy (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2013
Interview
Started with a group interview where we were asked basic questions, like what kind of personality we had, how we would handle different situations on the sales floor, and what we thought we could bring to the company. There was a portion where we were placed into groups and had to act out a charade from different movies. Lastly, we were assigned an article of clothing on a flash card and given five minutes to first find the piece of clothing (or something similar) and then build an outfit from clothing in the store for that piece.
After the group interview, people were called back for a one on one interview with the store manager. Questions included what our greatest strengths and weaknesses were, what the greatest accomplishments and failures that you've ever had, and the most difficult trial you've been through. You're then either given a piece of paper with the job offer, or receive a call a few days later saying that they'd like to hire you.

Interview
Applied through simplyhired.com. got an email for their hiring event. Went. The first interview was a quick and brief interview at a table with questions like tell me about yourself. Then went on to the next phase. A group activity we had to see our outfit we had on. Then then either sent you home or you went on the the final interview stage
It was a group interview with several people, about 5 to 8 others, and one manager doing the interviewing. He asked basic interview questions to get to know everyone and to test their skills.
