I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Outback Steakhouse (Waikïkï, HI) in Nov 2012
Interview
It was pleasant and quick. I was a transfer from another location so it was just a matter of checking who I was. I had previously worked with the hiring manager at my previous store, so he remembered me. I was interviewed by two managers and the proprietor, so I knew I had gotten approved for transfer. It was a good day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was a false claim, associated with my transfer (my old proprietor made derogatory claims so I wouldn't be able to get approved for transfer). Luckily I had already previously worked with the hiring manager before, so he knew the claims were false, and he asked me personally instead of automatically believing the other manager. The false claims were out of my character, and absolutely IN, her character...
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Outback Steakhouse (Metairie, LA) in Aug 2021
Interview
Proprietor at the Metairie location was standoffish. Asked for my number but wrote it down on a piece of trash which she then split in half as she placed it in her pocket.

Question 1
N/A, it was more of a speech and then saying they’d reach out.
Super quick and easy. Went in and sat down and just talked with a manger. After that had another meeting and then after that came back to go through all the direct deposit and training days.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Outback Steakhouse (Reno, NV) in May 2018
Interview
Short simple process. Classic questions about customer service and what you would do in a certain situation. Always good to be upbeat and nice. If you have worked in the customer service industry before, you should be just fine.

Question 1
What would you do if a customer was unhappy with their food?
