      BDR Interview

      Mar 7, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Reflektive (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

In person interview that lasted 2 hours. I met with the inside sales manager and the SVP. The questions were very straightforward. When it was my turn to ask questions, the interviewer stood up and pushed in her chair as if the interview was over. This seemed very unprofessional as it gives off the vibe the questions asked by the interviewee are not valued. It was the most awkward interview I have been through. They are targeting recent grad students that have a low salary expectation.

I'm so sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience interviewing at Reflektive. That seems very out of character of our inside sales director. I can say at the time this review was written, she had not been with the company for more than two weeks, which is an awkward time for any brand-new employee. I must say that we are not targeting new grads with low salary expectations. Within the inside sales org, we have two positions: Sales Development Reps with 6 months-1 year of B2B SaaS/tech sales experience who are creating opportunities from inbound sales leads; and Business Development Reps with 1 year+ of experience in B2B tech sales creating opportunities via outbound efforts. We are only hiring individuals with experience who are performing in the top 10% of their peer group. Salary and growth: Our company packages are within the 75th percentile of SaaS companies of our stage and size-- we get comp recommendation by one of, if not the, leading VC in Silicon Valley. Comp recommendations are leveled by employee experience. It is also important to note that an SDR can become a BDR and a BDR become an AE within 6-12 months of hitting their targets in each role. Again, I do apologize your experience interviewing with Reflektive was not the best. This review is acknowledged and we will take this valid feedback to improve. This review was written before the company went through a very exciting new phase and I am taking this opportunity to write major improvements can be made in a very short amount of time from one stage of a companies growth to another; e.g. large funding round; +30 customers; 15 to 30 employees in two quarters.

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Reflektive (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2016

      Interview

Pretty standard. Really seemed like everyone I talked to was excited about meeting me, and hiring in general, rather than it being a burden. Did seem to lack a little clarity in what the process was because a couple extra steps popped up that were unexpected. However, consistent and timely communication made it easy to navigate.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All pretty conversational. Nothing especially notable here.
