Very simple and straightforward. Normal questions like availability, have you worked in food service before, etc. I think it depends on location though since friends at other locations have had more substantive or less substantive interviews.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Subway (San Marino, CA) in Jun 2009
Interview
I had an interview with the owner of the particular Subway location that I applied too. It was very informal and I was asked the typical "why do you want to work here" and "what are my goals for the future" questions. The owner seemed to like me because I reminded her of her son and daughter which worked in my favor. I was called a few hours later and offered the position.
Straightforward and professional with typical fast food interview questions. Friendly and easy to talk to interviewers. Reasonable length and in person made it more comfortable. Great experience and easy interview.
Was pretty average hospitality interview process, focus on customer service in a fast paced environment, how to deal with stress, team work/ collaboration, company values, and your past experience. and availability etc.
