I received an message on LinkedIn from one of the HR people at Tableau, based in Ireland. I must have applied through a website.
I had a phone interview with her. I then had to set-up a second hone interview with another HR person, based in London, where the job was.
After speaking to her we set-up a third phone interview with the actual line manager. This process took over two weeks and kept on being pushed back because he was very busy. Emphasis on a Presidential Club was made several times to reinforce the importance of the character. There was a lack of understanding that I also had a demanding job and was travelling abroad at the time with no spare hour to speak to him and most of all no time to prepare well.
In the end we managed to fit in 30mn between his meetings while he was in a hotel in Mexico.
The interview itself was good with relevant sales questions. A lot around targets and numbers. They make you understand it is a high pressure job but that it comes with good rewards and a good team spirit. The manager sounds very efficient and straight to the point.
I was not invited for a further interview (which would have been a presentation at the London office).
The company and product sound interesting though and I was a little disappointed.
I requested feedback twice from their HR department and no one ever came back to me which was disappointing. It is essential for companies to give feedback.
Which comforts me in not having gone through the other steps.
