      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Union Pacific (Austin, TX) in Feb 2017

      Interview

I gave my resume to a recruiter at an on-campus career fair and immediately scheduled an interview for the next morning. It was a behavioral interview with an employee who had been through the program. Approximately one week later, I received an invitation for a second on-campus interview with a hiring manager and engineer. It was partially behavioral, partially case study.

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Union Pacific in May 2012

      Interview

The interview process was pretty laid back. The first was a hiring session that I was invited to in St. Charles, IL. It consisted of an overview of the company, two timed assessment exams, two untimed assessment exams, then an interview. Be prepared to spend at least 5 hours there. If you make it to the second round, you'll then be flown to Omaha for a panel interview with senior management. I received notification the next day that I was hired.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Do you have any experience managing in a safety sensitive environment?
      Answer question

      Question 2

If you saw someone putting safety at risk, what would you do?
