Express Scripts – Why Work For Us?

Since 1986, we’ve been doing two things incredibly well: taking care of patients and controlling costs for our clients. By putting our patients at the center of all we do, we’re able to help 83 million Americans access the medicine they need to get, and stay, healthy. But it takes a diverse group of smart and driven individuals to achieve this.

That’s why we’re always looking for creative, passionate and curious individuals to join our team. As an Express Scripts employee, you’ll be part of an energetic environment that champions outside-the-box thinking and being ‘all in’ for patients, clients and each other. An environment where you’re empowered to lead, explore and take control of your own career as you provide solutions that impact lives. Transforming healthcare is more important than ever before. It’s a transformation that needs thinkers, caregivers, trailblazers and craftsmen. Will you join us?

At Express Scripts, our commitment to diversity and inclusion is fueled by the passion and unique abilities of our 26,000 employees — a mosaic of talent that enriches our culture and ultimately helps us better serve our patients.

Whether it's through our inclusive culture, development opportunities, Employee Resource Groups, or having courageous conversations, we're building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workplace and workforce.

Here's a quick look at some of our programs and partnerships designed to strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion:

  • Employee Resource Groups – Employee groups that provide a forum for networking, support, shared interests, and opportunities for development.
  • Diversity University – Learning and development opportunities for employees to expand their diversity and inclusion knowledge and skills.
  • Executive Diversity Advisory Board – Represents business functions from across the company and works actively to find ways to make our diversity a competitive advantage.
  • CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion – CEO Tim Wentworth signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, promising to cultivate an environment that welcomes diverse experiences and perspectives. Additionally, Express Scripts was the first Fortune 100 company to host the “Check Your Blind Spots” mobile museum, which helps visitors identify their unconscious bias.
  • Experience Diversity Summit – At this annual summit, we host nationally recognized thought leaders and champions to share best practices, leading research and stories related to overcoming challenges and adversity in their personal and professional lives. By connecting individual experiences into a larger narrative, Express Scripts helps drive a greater understanding of each other and our differences.
  • Key Strategic Partnerships – Our diversity & inclusion initiatives includes partnerships with The Consortium, INROADS, NSHMBA, St. Louis Arc, MVR, MSE, and Best for Vets.
  • Top Workplace Recognitions – As a company, our commitment to diversity & inclusion has been recognized by USBLN, Human Rights Campaign, and DiversityInc.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a week. I interviewed at Express Scripts (Saint Louis, MO) in March 2017.

    Interview

I had two rounds of interview. First view was a lunch interview with University Relation Recruiters. It was not much of an interview, but more of a friendly conversation over topics about the position, the company, and me. Second round was a phone interview with Senior Director at Workforce Optimization. It was more formal. The questions were all behavioral.
