TA Instruments – Why Work For Us?

About Us

TA Instruments reputation for high technology products, quality manufacturing and unbeatable after sales support is why more customers recommend TA products to their colleagues around the world. Headquartered in New Castle, DE, TA Instruments prides ourselves in the technical competence and professionalism that our sales force offers. We are the only thermal analysis, rheology, microcalorimetry, and mechanical analysis supplier recognized worldwide for our prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service staff, the hallmark of our company.

Our technical support group is committed to handling all of your thermal analysis, rheology, and mechanical testing needs, and is available by phone, email and through the internet.

Our History

TA Instruments began as the Instrument Products Division of the DuPont Company in 1963. The business separated from DuPont into a stand-alone business in 1990, and was purchased by Waters Corporation in 1996. TA quickly became, and remains, the world leader in thermal analysis.

Over time, TA has acquired other companies and expanded into multiple product areas including rheology, microcalorimetry, thermal conductivity & diffusivity, dilatometry, rubber testing systems, and dynamic mechanical characterization.  We have continuously maintained our commitment to providing high reliability and high performance products to meet the needs of our customers in the evaluation of physical properties.

As the dynamic market leader in the design, production and sales of thermal analysis/rheology instruments and related software, we pride ourselves in the quality and achievements of our team members. With offices located in the US, Europe, the United Kingdom, China and Japan, we offer a fast paced, entrepreneurial team environment.

Away from the hustle and bustle of busy inner city offices and traffic jams, our corporate offices are located in a park-like environment, close to the Delaware River, in the Wilmington, Delaware metropolitan area. We are close to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and many other points of interest.

As an industry leader, we offer our team members technical challenges, competitive salaries, and a casual small company atmosphere. Our continued growth relies on recruiting and developing individuals that can make a positive contribution to our business.

At TA Instruments, hiring and retaining talented employees is a top priority. Every employee plays an important role in the success of our company. Our comprehensive employee benefits package is one way that TA attracts the best in the industry.

I have been working at TA Instruments full-time

TA is a company that is large enough to offer stability and the resources to do big things. But it is small enough that people are known for who they are, not just their job title. This means that someone with aptitude and ambition can make a real impact and have opportunities that would be impossible in a company that was structured differently.

The company runs lean, which offers stability, but means that there are fewer people to do the work.

    Software Development Engineer I Interview

    Average Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TA Instruments.

I applied online and followed-up with a recruiter on LinkedIn. A few days later, I was contacted to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was with two employees: the software manager and a senior software engineer. Two working days later, I was contacted to set up an on-site interview. I chose one of the dates offered by my contact. The day of the on-site interview, I was told that they had too many vacation conflicts and needed to reschedule. I offered a few alternative dates, but they never committed to another on-site date. A week or two later, I was told that another candidate was chosen for the position.
