    Pros

A great company all around. Treat employees very well. Considerate of their personal and family needs. Working very hard and delivering on an innovative approach within a somewhat staid, slow moving industry. Company is growing faster than market growth. Nice and smart people to work with. Stable company. New sales head excels at transformation and is impacting things positively and quickly. Working from home is not an issue.

    Cons

The industry Calix is in is somewhat slow growing.

I have been working at Calix full-time

    Pros

During my interviews I was able to get a feel of exactly what they expected of me for the job I was applying for. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly making me feel like I was already at home. I am so glad to be apart of a dynamic company that is working to change the telecommunications industry.

    Cons

Smaller office, which could be nice to some.

I have been working at Calix full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you want to make an impact this is the place. Everybody is pulling in the same direction and help is just a question away.

    Cons

New employee on boarding could be improved.

    Advice to Management

We now have so many systems it would be nice to have a "best practices" approach for new hires.

    Pros

What attracted me to Calix was the opportunity to have an impact and drive change. Thus far, I've felt empowered to bring forth new ideas and contribute and that's been inspiring. I feel supported in attending relevant conferences and in getting the resources I need to do my work well.

I particularly appreciate that Calix supports Remote Workers. Much of the company is dispersed, yet everything falls into place. It's nice to see that kind of trust from an employer.

Work-life balance has been quite reasonable and time-off has never been an issue.

    Cons

Since much of the company is dispersed, it's hard to cultivate a true sense of community. I feel in-tune to the team I work with regularly, but don't feel connected beyond that. However, I get that that's the trade-off when working remotely.

Beyond that, my only gripe is that there are no healthy snacks.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in your people and the company / product will grow proportionally. Be open to new ideas and philosophies on how to do things. Lastly, make every employees feel that their voice is valued - that will only have a positive impact

    I worked at Calix full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good benefits, supportive and understanding peers, relaxed culture, knowledgeable team members were very helpful and willing to assist other team members.

    Cons

Terrible training, culture of blame shifting and finger pointing. Outright lying to customers and ongoing expectation that employees would continue to "tow the company line" by continuing the lies and broken commitments. No disciplinary or corrective action process.

    Advice to Management

Be more available. Engage in more ongoing training, develop a training team. Develop a growth oriented, documented corrective action program. Stop making unattainable delivery commitments to customers.
