I worked at Cartier full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

      - Everyone in the NYC HQ is incredibly kind, even the counterpart teams in Paris HQ - The Cartier brand is quite a legacy; instantly recognizable and respected and appreciated by everyone who works there, all our clients, and even our competitors - Great place to network and establish strong luxury connections given the brand recognition - Great office space; it's semi-open floor, with most of the executive offices...

      Cons

**this is just for NYC hq. none of the commentary below would apply to the store teams - So. much. red. tape. - A very professional environment i.e. wearing suits every day as a man or high heels every day as a woman - It got very political between teams, especially among management - made it very difficult to collaborate among junior staff - There are some teams that are very understaffed, and others that get all...

      Advice to Management

Focus on building a positive, collaborative culture on your team and with other teams. Junior staff will reflect their manager's personalities and priorities, and it's a shame because most people who work there are so smart and nice and great at their jobs, but have to navigate the politics that is pervasive thru upper management.

      I worked at Cartier full-time

      Pros

I met a few great people.

      Cons

Very poor management. Management is hired based in how long they've been with the company or how well higher ups may like them. The managers have no people skills, no task management experience, and no leadership skills. They don't know how to grow employees nor do they want their employees to grow and learn. They definitely do not give raises unless you're in a store location. The 'management' has no clue about...

      Advice to Management

Hire management with actual management expertise in luxury jewelry and they have people arms leadership skills. Don't hire managers who just want a high salary.

I have been working at Cartier full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Fantastic company!! Salary and benefits are great, and the company prides itself on work-life balance.

      Cons

My boutique at the Orlando Millenia is closing in a few months and I will sadly no longer be with the company.

      Advice to Management

Hire good individuals that respect and get along with one another and your boutique will thrive. Don't underestimate having happy employees; misery is not good for business.

I have been working at Cartier full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Cash rich company that makes day to day comfortable. Coworkers are competent and friendly. Friendly management. Great benefits package and lots of PTO.

      Cons

Don’t like to give bonuses or raises. Some managers are harder to deal with than others. The company isn’t much concerned with the customer which is difficult when working with clients

      Advice to Management

Give a commission structure that corresponds to how hard I work, not how hard you perceive me working

I worked at Cartier full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Experience from working in the corporate side of Cartier in New York City: Interesting company history, feels great to contribute to the legacy. Nice corporate benefits such as employee sales and discounts, employee health and financial benefits are great. Opportunity to work on projects that have an impact throughout the corporation. Lots of employee trainings available.

      Cons

Lack of opportunity to grow within the organization. Lack of responsibility given to junior staff. Daily tasks can feel monotonous and not innovative. Senior management comfortable in their roles and not especially helpful in enriching junior staff experience or growth.

      Advice to Management

Invest in your junior staff and continue strengthening a positive company culture across all departments.

I have been working at Cartier full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

The pros out of this interview process is the ability to learn from poor management and how to improve poor Human Resources in a multi million dollar company.

      Cons

The HR department in New York has much to learn in regards to conducting interviews and follow up. Interviews are conducted at a leisurely time of approximate 7 months.

      Advice to Management

Maybe getting of their “high horse” by giving some respect to employees and conducting a more serious business acumen. Plenty of companies are willing to conduct interviews within a timely manner and etiquette.
