Pros

The pay and benefits are good.

Cons

The company buys new technology through acquisitions which requires continuous adjustments in head count and management structure. Job security is low due to this making for a company with poor morale.

Pros

Great People locally and in the trenches. Good 401K match.

Cons

No thought for work load (over-loading and not hiring as required). Continual lay-offs of good contributors. Harassment by off site upper management (verbally and monetarily). Slowly taking away any perks so that there are rare team building events. Morale below anything I have ever encountered. The only reason people stay is because either a)nothing else in the area of corporate or b) they have been at the bought out company for a long time and still reap the benefits/compensation of that entity. Horrible health insurance.

Good pay but no stability

Pros

Good pay and "meh" benefits. Make sure you use that good salary to pad your savings account in the likelihood you get fired in the first couple years. Work/life balance, for me, has always been good here, but it depends entirely on your manager. I've been lucky to have good managers that understand we have other life commitments, but I also know people with managers who don't seem to understand we don't live and breathe for work.

Cons

CommScope is known for going into a hiring frenzy when things are good, then firing a bunch of people at the first downturn. CommScope has been in a constant state of reorganizing since I was hired several years ago. There's no stability; even the good workers are fired. They will reorganize and put people in jobs they've never done before. Right about the time you start figuring out your role, responsibilities, and teammates, they reorganize again, and you'll get a new boss with a new team. It doesn't feel like very much progress gets made within working groups.
