Constant workforce reductions and re-organizations
May 10, 2023 - Global Procurement Manager in Greensboro, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Most of the people you work with across the globe are great people! The work-life balance, for the most part, is ok. I've had some really good managers that support their people and promote them.
Cons
I've had 7 different managers in 6 years due to re-organizations within the company. Every year, with the re-orgs, you have to worry if your position is going to be eliminated. They do not make decisions on who to keep based on experience or knowledge or work ethic; it comes down to being in the wrong department at the wrong time. It is the most unstable job I've ever had.

Pros
Good work/family balance with work from home opportunities and a decent amount of vacation/personal time.
Cons
Internal promotion has always been an issue in most departments, the company hires externally far too often and wastes the talents of the people assets they already have. Lately, benefits have been cut significantly including just recently cancelling all pay increases for 2023 and now cancelling 401k contribution matches. Why would anyone want to work where they treat their greatest asset this way?

It was a great company 4 years ago but....
Jun 1, 2023 - Project Manager in Hickory, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Immediate manager was very encouraging and supportive. Enjoyed working with my team.
Cons
Company is struggling right now and laid off quite a few very good people in May 2023. Wish they cared more about people but it is another company looking at reducing costs. They cancelled raises in 2023 and suspending 401k match after July. Stock has been declining for a while. This company was great, not anymore.

Pros
Fellow coworkers are nice and hardworking.
Cons
Benefits have all been taken away lately. No 401k, no stock options below VP, small or no bonuses, expensive healthcare with bad providers. Executive leadership is out of touch and needs to be replaced.

A bit outdated but still a fantastic experience
May 30, 2023 - Project Management Specialist in Lisle, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The technology is engaging and used by some of the best companies in the industry
Cons
CommScope should invest in younger talent, as the tech space is fast-moving and could use a spark of innovation

This company is dying. Run for the hills!

None. They have cut all good benefits and now have stopped giving raises.
Cons
They have cut all the extra benefits and now have stopped giving raises. The CEO is a complete failure and executive leadership is a joke. Everything they touch turns to dirt. Don’t work here. I will probably be leaving soon since raises and promotions don’t exist. They have record profits and don’t give those back to the employees.

Unstable and Poor Leadership
May 11, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Hickory, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There are some really great people, teams, and leaders, but unfortunately, they do not outweigh the poor executive leadership. Some teams are able to work remote/hybrid.
Cons
CommScope is not what it was four years ago; the culture is completely different. The company lacks direction, and constant budget cuts, layoffs, and hiring freezes are disheartening and make for a very unstable workplace. Executive leaders do not care about individual contributors, and really, most of the employees. The ELT has driven the company to the ground.

Abandon Ship!
Apr 18, 2023 - Systems Engineer in Santa Clara, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good compensation and very good benefits.
Cons
Leadership Not allowing for employee mistakes or let workers correct their errors. Letting big corporate mentality put serious pressure on smaller acquisitions. Stock value has been plummeting for years.
