I worked at Days Inn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, friendly staff, good training.

    Cons

Very short breaks for lunch. Must be able to multitask very quickly when hotel is busy. I got fired without a warning and the manager didn't give me a reason.

    Advice to Management

I think you must give a reason to a person you are firing. Also its good to start with a warning and let someone know what they are doing wrong...

I worked at Days Inn (More than a year)

    Pros

Good hotel, some employees had great hospitality, owners were very nice and generous people.

    Cons

They didn't spend enough time training employees, I would always have to work over because they didn't have the best of employees at the time.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you have employees who want to work and can have management train them to do their jobs properly.

I worked at Days Inn part-time

    Pros

    Simple uniform.
Night shift was left alone all night, so the perfect time to do homework if you're a student.

    Cons

Pay was rarely on time, and usually through a shady accountant or cash only.
Boss would specifically make sure no one was a full time worker so as to avoid paying benefits.
    No chance for advancement.
Would use bizarre, Chinese labeled chemicals and just pour then into old English labeled containers.
Would serve order us to serve bad food at breakfast, and to just 'scrape off the mold'.

    Advice to Management

Clean up your act. With a company this large you shouldn't be paying employees under the table with only cash (and probably not reporting employees as required), and you shouldn't have employees on the books for 39.9 hours only because it's 'cheaper'. It's not.

I have been working at Days Inn part-time

    Pros

Easy job, great opportunity to meet people from all around the world. Good way to build communication skills.

    Cons

Can get boring and repetitive. Huge turnover rate due to either bad management or just bad training.

I worked at Days Inn part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun place to work, freedom to work independently and there is plenty of time to get your rooms done; if you work at a decent pace. Co-workers are there to help anyone who may have rooms left so everyone can leave for the day. Comfortable, able to listen to music or listen to t.v. while working. Very family oriented, they value family obligations of their employees. They are understanding and if you need to go due to an emergency, or need to take a little time off to deal with an emergency, you are able to do so.

    Cons

If you are a housekeeper, you more than likely will not be getting full time hours. Your hours vary depending on the time of year and amount of rooms that day. Pay is 8.00 an hour to start which isn't bad. If you are looking for more hours or full time hours..front desk would be a better option. I, myself, enjoyed the housekeeping position.

    Advice to Management

None! Great job & keep it up!
